Correct Position of Brake Gear

I would like to get the position of Brake Gear correct on all my stock (HO)

I recently acquired an old Roundhouse Products kit (it came boxed but in the oldest design of Roundhouse box I have seen here in the UK Yellow and Black) of a 60' Bulkhead Flat Car 1312 Western Pacific with running # WP 1404

I already have a few Bulkhead Flats and examining how other modelers have assembled them what a difference of opinion I found and therefore would like to put them all right

Powering Tortoise Switch Machines

I will have 8 tortoise switch machines on my small layout. Am using Digitrax Zephyr Extra. What are the pros and cons and whys of running the switch machines off the Digitrax using a stationary decoder (thinking DS44) VS. using a separate power supply for the switch machines and associated signaling LED's?

Ohm's Law

Dave (with the moniker HVT) raised a question on another thread about resistor calculation.

So as not to hijack the thread, I've moved that discussion over here.

He posted:

Who Manufactured this HO Steam Locomotive & Tender?

My brother asked me to repair an HO-scale steam locomotive that an older gentleman gave him some time ago. We're curious about the who manufactured it and when. Any ideas?

"Silverton & Telluride" with a Pacific prototype? Has anyone run a Blackstone locomotive?

A previous thread on adapting the "San Juan Central" to a pacific coast theme got cluttered with a discussion about MF vs TK, so let's start over with a slightly different premise:

Negotiation of space in the home for our hobby

Obviously, layouts and modelling work requires space. Most layouts are made to fit the spatial constraints where they are, be this in a spare bedroom, loft, garage or shed. Modelling work can be rather messy at times as well as requiring some concentration.

New Eastbrook development

The coming months I will work on the New Eastbrook N-scale modules. I already scratch build some structures and some more will be made. As you can see I also have to lay some track.... This is the current status (March 4 2013) and the starting point of the New Eastbrook development :-)
