JJL Models Status
Folks -
Being that Joe Lofland, owner of JJL Models, passed away in March 2014, does any know if any other company will pick up his products & offer them to the model community? He had great Erie caboose kits, but what I really liked was that he produced a locomotive that you rarely see in HO Scale: the Lima LS-1200 switcher (& yes, Alco Models had a brass version back in the 1970s, but good luck getting your hands on one today).
New iPad issue.
One of two things has happened on my iPad Mini. When I hit the return key instead of going to a new line the cursor is jumping to the beginning of the current paragraph. Now either this is a new feature of iOS 8 or some change of features on the new servers. I hear iOS 8.2 will be released quickly to fix some issues. Is anybody else experiencing this problem?

Verso paper mill in Bucksport, ME closing
Just another indication that dead tree publishing is losing ground. 570 jobs are being lost. This also represents the loss of a good sized revenue generator for Pan Am Railway (née Guilford, nee Maine Central) and a nice spot to watch plant switching.

Quebec & New England HO Layout
Hello
I have received numerous requests from my YouTube subscribers (QNERailroad) to post my layout's track plan, so I thought I'd give this forum a try. I don't know how well it will show up, but here goes. I added some colour to the visible level track plan to make it a little more readable. It's not perfect. It still needs scenery/ground cover and a hint of ballast, but that requires more time than I can spare at the moment. The hidden staging track plan includes the two helices. Enjoy.

Athearn Plastic Handrails
I am having a lot of trouble keeping Athearn plastic hand rails on my locomotives. I have an operating layout so they do get some handling. I would like to glue them on with some type of adhesive. Any ideas?

Using an NCE EB1 Circuit Breaker
I've got a point-to-point layout broken into 4 power areas. I've got a Power Pro 5 which is enough to handle all the switching. My question is setting up the EB1 circuit breakers. I've attached a diagram on how it seems you set them up. The instructions from NCE discuss setting up one, not multiple.

Scenery and structures
I've been looking on E-bay for various static grass applicators and have seen listings for this applicator and
was wondering if anyone has used it and what the results are.
Thanks,
Howard
Middle school model RR: a sawtooth learning curve
Since my regular math classes have their hands (and minds) pretty full right now with homework and new classroom routines, I got the model railroad project back under way last week during a once-a-week elective called Applied Math. We only had an hour, and most of the students in the elective were not among those who worked on the project last year, but they were very eager to contribute nonetheless.

Sometimes I just love being a pack rat
So, as I talked about earlier, I am working on a church. The new method of doing the stain glass windows are working great, just have to go slow and work my way around the building. And Ivy for later.
The light sockets are glued down for inside the building, and the electrical switch works to turn them on and off. They light up the stain glass windows nicely when the building is placed.
3 different colors of grass are mixed onto the base, with painted concrete walks and blacktop road and parking lot.
