Holiday Greetings
In this holiday season I am posting this "card." I've had this image in my files for years and am sorry to say I can't credit the source. Looks like a pretty festive time in "Lionelville!"
Best seasons greetings and holiday wishes to all.

What a wife!
The bride was trying to help me through my latest "funk" on model railroading so besides offering some great counsel she also gave me my Christmas present early! Check out my new loco:
It's a Broadway Limited Paragon SW1500 with DCC & sound! I took it around the layout for a few laps and it looks & sounds great. What a wife!
A Bona Vista Boxcar
To All: Gary Leone is a well known model railroader. He recently dismantled his layout and in now building a new one. I painted, lettered, weathered and dull coated this Athearn 40 foot boxcar for Gary's Bona Vista RR. Herald art work was drawn by me (I wish I had made it larger). Yours, Elvin Howland/E. Michael Rose's LED Boards
We have taken the plunge and ordered stock of these boards so they can be offered at a more economical price, in lower quantities. Our first order of boards will be in stock soon. When this stock is gone we will re-evaluate investing in more.
The boards can be ordered online from pdc.ca.
Apartment HO Layout?
Years ago I built in my basement the Gannite and Great Gorge HO layout (which I never finished) but had to throw it out when my kids needed the room for a bedrooms.
Now I am finding myself being forced to move to a one bedroom apartment and once again I would like to build an HO layout.
But living in an apartment that I do not own (as opposed to my own house I have always lived in) concerns me. I don't think I will have alot of room and the thought of moving or throwing out the layout if I have to move out worries me. Can anyone give me some advice?

Bullet Proof Track
The reason we don't allow beer at the Keystone Model Railroad Club. . . . .LOL!
weathering a athearn heavy flat car
What would be the best way to weather a black heavy flat car with a plastic metal deck?
MRC Tech 6 6.0 Sound Controller
I have recently purchased the MRC Tech 6 6.0 Sound Controller with the intent of using sound on my DC HO layout. I have not yet installed it on my layout, but before I do I suspect that green and red DC LED'S I have wired across the tracks in multiple blocks to indicate 'polarity' of a specified block, and therefore indicating if a train can continue moving forward into that block, after leaving its current block, might be in danger of 'burning out' if an AC voltage is applied to them by the MRC Controller. My question is then will an LED withstand an AC voltage?

DCC wiring question about occupancy detection
Typically, I run a separate PAIR of wires for each section of track that I want to detect occupancy on. This ends up with me having as much wire under the layout as rail above the layout. The question I have is: If I am feeding all of the DCC blocks from the same source, can I run a single common wire and just run single wires for each block that I want to detect current draw from? This would save quite a bit of redundant wire under my layout.
Thanks,
Ryan
