What About the Caboose?
As I'm in the midst of building a new layout and don't have any track down yet, I'm relegated to running virtual trains on my track plan with my track planning software. A while back I asked some questions about how the prototype would handle cuts and pulls on a road freight pulling into a local yard. The answers I received were really helpful. But I find myself with another question now.
Railroad line forums?? Down Again??
Last couple days my computer could not find the Forum. Just wondering if others are having the same problem. Craig

TTX Yellow
I am looking for a good match for TTX yellow. I read that the PollyScale was a little too dull to match it well. Microscale has a handy Floquil cross reference but again, their TTX yellow looks too pale. I am wondering if Model Master Insignia Yellow or Chrome Yellow would be a better match. Has anyone experience with TTX yellow, other than the old Floquil or Polly Scale offerings?

New Cover paper at Kalmbach
For the first time in my life I held a new Model Railroader magazine and the ink on the back and front cover did not come off on my hands. Kudos to Kalmbach for the paper upgrade!

Almost to the Point of Rocks
My first attempt at brick on wood of the Point of Rocks Station, this is being built for the man who bought my Josie Olina Mercantile. my restriction is that it can only be 4 inches wide so only one side is being built the back side is flat and he wanted it longer to fit his space.

Blue Christmas
I know I'm showing my age, but where have all the catalogs gone? This time of year we could hardly wait to run down to J&J Trains to see the latest display for Christmas and pick up all the free catalogs that were available. Lionel, Gilbert, and even a few HO Scale ones from manufacturers. (Sorry, N Scalers, but you haven't been invented yet.)

Switch Stand Position?
Are there prototype rules concerning the placement of a switch stand? Before I start relocating stands I thought I should ask.
For example: at this location it seems more logical for both stands to be on the same side of the track. Would a real railroad always put the stand on the diverging side or would they mix and match sides to minimize conductor crossing the tracks?

Siskiyou Line revisited?
As a recent subscriber to TMTV, I’ve been enjoying many of the videos, especially the early Siskiyou Line videos that Joe Fugate produced.
Joe: any chance TMTV could revisit your layout and give us another tour to see the progress on your layout? Unless I missed something, the last video segment produced on your layout was in 2007.
They’re great videos and I would love to see how the layout has progressed.

Model Railroad Clinicing is Fun!
This past weekend I had the pleasure of giving my first clinic, at the Quinte Train Show in Belleville, ON. That's a pretty big deal in and of itself, but what made it even more special was that the clinic was among several that were recorded for Trainmasters.tv by Barry Silverthorn and his crew.
