Quick and Easy Yucca Plants for your desert layout

My Tombstone & Southwest Railroad layout needs lots of plant scenery native to the desert.  So I'm always on the lookout for ways I can add to it.  In my flower garden I noticed that the seed pods from my cornflowers looked a bit like those luxuriant yucca plants you see in desert surroundings, so I set about trying to make some mini yuccas for my layout.  As you can see from the image they didn't come out too bad.

GP7 Bell - H0

Because Maine Central GP7s in the Harvest Gold scheme are so hard to come by I'm thinking of purchasing and redecorating a Bachmann model.

Can anyone tell me which bell - manufacturer and part number - I would have to buy to match the one in this photo?

or would I need to fashion my own?

SMA19 Working HO Scale Helicopter

Model animation—bringing models to life—adds enormously to the interest and enjoyment of any layout or individual model!  In the midst of the self-created kaos of preparing clinics for the 2015 NMRA convention, I snuck in the time to work on this animation of a DCC controlled UH-1H Iroquois helicopter, that I built for a friend. This video captured the project just after I competed all but the final details and decaling, just before it flew off my workbench.  All the sounds are generated by the model as you see it and hear it.

ETR layout update

It has been awhile since my last post. I have had to rebuild the layout. The track plan was layed out several times. Finally settled on the current one. I am now laying down the track and  did some scenery.
