Sound Decoder Question

I decided to venture into DCC this year. I just purchased the Bachman EZ Command controller, and a Bachmann Spectrum 462 loco to accompany it.

I figured everything out so far on basic operation except for the sound. The paperwork that came with the Engine and with the Controller is so vague, I'm not sure if I even have sound with this loco. The coal tender has what looks to be a speaker on the bottom, and wire connections to the loco, but I can't get any sound to work. Any help would be much appreciated.

Tortoise bus gauge

I have 65 tortoise machines stretched along 130 ft of track. I will be using a 12V 2.5A wall wart. What gauge bus wires do I need? I also have a 12V 1.2A and a 12V 3.5A wall warts available. Would I be better using any 2 of the 3  in order to have the Bipolar DC arrangement suggested by Circuitron?    Blayne

How to be an Engine Fireman

If anyone has an interest in Steam, here is a link to the 152 page book issued to prospective firemen on the NYC by the University of New York in 1944. It covers the operation of a steam engine inside and out from the smoke box to the fire door.
