Locos - Rolling stock (general)
Proto Resources
Most of you may know this excellent resource for prototype locomotives. If not, check it out! Many contributors maintain a frequently-updated list containing entire locomotive rosters of almost every railroad out there (they even have a "fallen flags" section, which I have yet to browse). I find myself on this site especially when I'm trying to figure out from what road a specific locomotive originated from.

Some real Fantasy Schemes for locomotives and rolling stock
Greetings~
Allagash Railway- Extreme Diesel Weathering
Jack,
You asked about the green on the Allagash Fs. Here is a comparison shot. The Alco RS32 is fresh from the paint shop. That's Scalecoat II BNSF Green. The F was painted with a custom mix of Scalecoat II Burlington Northern Green and the BNSF Green. Probably 80/20 BNSF Green/Burlington Northern Green.
The Train Room, More photos from the GS&M Layout
Checking for bench work height with old portable layout (Was from and old railroad plan book). Your looking at a 2 foot wide section over a 1 foot wide section. You can also see the reach problem with the 2 foot wide section.
Off Layout Rolling Stock Storage
I'm looking for ideas for off layout storage of rolling stock. I have a 2'x8' shelf layout and can reasonably handle 10 40 ft cars an one loco. Like most model rails I have "somewhat" more than 10 cars and one loco.
I want to have the rolling stock available to be moved on to the layout when called for. I am using the car card system built into the Easy Model Railroad Inventory software to generate car movements. The use of cars from off layout storage adds to the variety both visual and operationally.
Inkjet Decal Paper
Hello all,
I'm looking for inkjet decal paper other than that offered by Micro Mark. I hope someone can provide me with a lead or a link.
Thanks in advance

Walthers Proto parts?
Has anybody tried buying parts from Walthers? I've heard that they will give away replacement parts, but what if you want to use the parts to build or modify another model?
Specifically, I'm interested in the drawbar/electrical connector that they use on the 0-8-0, and possibly the drivers on the 2-8-8-2. That drawbar is one of the most intelligent designs I've seen in quite a while, and I would love to use it on my locomotives.
Replacing Locomotive road numbers on Proto 2000 F7
Just received my Proto 2000 Santa Fe F7's for my El Capitan. I would like to use these locomotives on my San Diegan service "1963 era" and need to replace the road numbers. Would someone give me advice on how to remove and reinstall the new numbers?
Thanks

Custom paint
So, I've been painting on a commission basis on and off for four years now. I recently completed these following two units.
CR #6615 is a RPP C32-8 shell, lightly detailed, custom brake lever, Floquil paint & Microscale decals.
SP #2873 is an Athearn Genesis GP9, stripped and repainted in Kodachrome.
