An assessment of the Kato P42 engine

Normally a multiple sample set of tests is required before any statement can be made with certainty.
However, recently a Kato P42 Amtrak engine with the motors in the trucks was made available for
testing.

The results of this engine's initial tests were such that a summary of this single test was justified.

While looking at individual parameters the uniqueness may not stand out, when looking at the
performance overall the unit is in a class by itself.

N&W Alco RS-11 Air Intake Vents/Shutters

Hello

Today I have a product to share with you that has been missing until very recently.

The story began with a pair of "NW" RS-11s from Atlas dating back to mid-2000s. When I decided a year or two ago to keep their factory paint and make them more prototypically accurate, I discovered a body modification. All N&W purchased RS-11s had shutters/vents added over the air intakes at some point in the early 60s. I searched Walthers and other places for possible solutions, but couldn't come up with any leads.

O scale - Building my own flat cars

I show you how I've made my own flat cars using cardstock, styrene and wood

3D Printers.

Interested in purchasing a 3D printer to produce HO scale model parts and maybe even containers. Would like a reasonably priced printer with easy to use software if thats a possible combination. Any help would be most appriciated.

Stephen.

Over weighting of cars.......

Over in another discussion the practice of over weighting of cars came up. Not wanting to hijack that and having some questions, I thought I'd start a new thread as other discussions on the subject are buried kind of deep in threads.
