Prototype Railroading

Propane Tank Cars
My FEC switching layout has a propane dealer. I know propane is hauled in 33k gallon tank cars in the modern era. Atlas made them but they are to come by. Would other tank cars also be appropriate. They all look about the same to my untrained eye.
Research Help - Wynkoop Street, Denver D&RGW or C&S? I’m
I have found myself looking to switch the location of an urban switching track plan setting from LA to Denver. In particular to the area between the 14th Street (Speer) and 16th Street viaducts including Wewatta and Wynkoop Streets. This is the warehouse district “south” of the Denver Union station. It is not part of the Belt Line area which is “north” of that area.

A friend who knows of my layout building project, and my interest in alternative energy sources, just sent me this link,..

Southern Pacific in Oregon
Folks,
A friend of mine who grew up in southern Oregon mentioned he can't seem to find many photos of the Southern Pacific in southern Oregon during the 1930s up to about 1955.
He is not talking about locomotive or roster type photos, Rather, he is looking for photos of yards, stations, industries, rail-scenes along the right of way in that area, etc.
I told him I would ask the question to the immensely knowledgeable crew here on the MRH Forum.
Can anybody point me/him to a source? Books, magazine issues, or on-line.
Daily train meet
On my 50 mile commute to work in the mornings I meet the same train everyday. I am headed south and the train is headed north. I call it the UPS train because the first 1/3 or so of the train is UPS trailers on flatbeds followed by double stack and single stack containers. I typically see this train on the same 5 mile stretch of my commute.. I have no idea where this train is going but I assume in originates in Denver. So I was just wondering how many others have noticed that they see a daily train on their daily commutes?
Chinese viaduct prototype
If you have a couple minutes, try this video from YouTube. I wonder how the Chinese model railroaders feel about using this bridge on their apartment sized layouts....
Enjoy, even at x2 speed. Nick
Identifing a reporting mark
I have an HO scale reefer with the reporting mark UPTX. I can not find that listed in any of the online lists of railroad reporting marks. Does any one know if that is genuine or made up? I have several with URTX on them and this one is very clearly a P and not an R.
Need Information on African Railways
Hello, I am a younger modeller (well, I have been modelling for the past ~15 years, but I am much younger than most model railroaders I have met.) and have been particularly interested in African railways, yet not much information exists on African prototype practices. I can piece together some information off the internet and some from books, but its still not a lot of detail.
Real Steam and roundhouse
There is a roundhouse museum in SugarCreek, Ohio that has on display 22 steam engines, a dozen diesels, plus passenger cars, and other equipment. This is a private collection that has just opened to the public. Check out their website at, "Age of Steam Roundhouse".
