Prototype Railroading

Old UK train comedy routine I heard over the weekend
It's about 6.5 minutes long, is from the UK, and about steam trains. The sounds are relevant here.

Understanding a Time Table
I recently bought a 1967 Fort Worth And Denver Timetable off of Ebay, and have attached a photo to illustrate my question(s). I'm having a hard time figuring out portions of the information that I'm looking at. Specifically what is the signs column (I'm guessing it's for the various services available at that location, and what do the letters represent? O's I'm assuming are operators on duty, and P means phone, F is for fuel, but what are the rest? Also in the milepost column there is an L or a P preceding the milepost number, any idea what those stand for?
Wabtec battery locomotive takes shape
Back in October 2018, BNSF and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District received a $ 22.6 million grant from the California Air Resource Board (CARB) for a battery-powered locomotive: https://www.railjournal.com/regions/north-america/bnsf-and-ge-to-trial-battery-electric-locomotive-in-california/
Horn Type?
Hi All:
Do any of you know what the mfg and model # of those little "Blat" horns that came on EMD (and other) switch engines back when?
I will be trying to match that horn as best I can with my TSU2's soon.
Thanks if you can help.

Melting tank cars
Do railroad tank cars ever melt when they are burning in long fire like lan magemtic canda ,where the train rolled down the hill and blew up the town?

C&O "for progress" logo
I'm trying to find info on the C&O "for progress" logo.
The info that I have is from the C&O historical society site. Everywhere else I looked had text that was pretty obviously copied from theirs. I have two facts:
- R. R. Young got control of the C&O through the remnants of the Van Sweringen companies in 1942.

A couple of hours with the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad
I'm spending part of this week in Rockaway Beach, Oregon, on the Oregon Coast, with family. Sort of an annual getaway together.
Well, Rockaway Beach is where the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad makes it's northern stop before backing down back to Garibaldi. On the way here I'd spotted several pieces of equipment and made a mental note to head over to take photos later. Today, later came.... and it came in a big way.

Looong Container Train
BNSF 6597 leads a monster 16,000 ft stack train with 10 engines west
Think about the times it would have taken to load old style boxcars with this amount of freight !!
Nevada Northern Visit
Just made a trip west that included a great stop in Ely, Nevada and a visit to the Nevada Northern RR. We were lucky enough to see their 2-8-0 in operation, plus some of the other aging pieces of equipment on the rails and an open-air passenger car being rebuilt. Enjoy these photos we took.
