G Scale running problems

Greetings everyone,

Lenz and I feel like I got lost for the last 9 years....

So, has been awhile since I've posted anything. But I recently (within the past year) switched from N to Ho because of failing eyesight, at least up close, and have found something that is throwing me a huge curveball.

Since I last actually used my Lenz USB interface I've upgraded computers at least three times, maybe more. I am using Windows 7 now, and just today found that my interface is a no-go because of "no driver" for the USB interface.

N Peco switches Atlas switches???

My son is moving away from HO (not enough space) to N Scale that he had once before, he would like to use Atlas code 55 track and switches as opposed to PECO code 55 . Peco has a built in spring for the switches Atlas does not what are people using to keep the point blades in place , he cant afford switch machines etc.

track as a model vs. bulletproof operations HO

So, the Toma idea is motivating me to leap out of my recliner and build a 2 section LDE as a way to both enjoy hands on modeling and test ideas for a larger layout. Eventually my bigger layout will be prototype operations oriented Electrified GN Cascade Division 1955. I've been collecting a lot of brass and researching the prototype with the GNRHS for many years to that end. (NCE)

Looking for info about a DCC product coming down the pipeline

I was having a discussion with someone about a Product that was in works that would incorporate all the major DCC makers and allow the use of any throttle with that command station

For example

My club uses Digitraxx DCC. This product im asking about , installed to our digitrax Command station would allow a user who has a NCE throttle. to run and operate on our Digitraxx powered layout.

Anyone seen or know about this?

N Scale and Railpro -- good news!

On Saturday, I sent the folks at RailPro an e-mail asking them to someday produce a locomotive module for N scale.

Not only was I delighted by their fast reply, what they said delighted me too.

Digitrax DCC mobile ecoders

Greetings DCC experts,

I have a Proto 2000 GP9 with a Digitrax DH163L0 DCC decoder.

The the new bulbs are 1.5 volts and do not work either direction. The bulbs have been tested and this is the second decoder that has done this.  The decoder is insulated with tape.   The Loco operation is fine.

Is this a programming secret I am missing?

I'm always impressed by the photos and info on this site and thanks.
