Track and electrical/DCC
DCC turntable wiring
I have a complex and, I believe, rather unique question about DCC. I am a tinkerer and plan to build my own locomotive turntable. The turntable will not have a reverse loop controller. The question I have is if I supply DCC separately to the track that is on the turntable, soldering wire to each side of the track, when the table turns 180 degrees I will have a continuity issue (having created a reverse loop). However if I have an on/off switch to the rails on the turn table and switch it "off" and have a second on/off DCC powered switch with the wirin
atlas turnouts - whats the common feeling
im in the process of massing many turnouts for my layout. ive been scooping up some peco and walthers units on ebay. however, i notice the atlas units are almost half the price... is there that much of a difference in performance and quality? i plan on using insulated frogs for my dcc

Which wire do you use for feeders to the rails?
I am planning to solder a feeder to every piece of rail on my DCC-powere HO-layout. Short lengths might be soldered to a rail next to it.
The feeders will be connected to a european style terminalor or perhaps suitcaseconnectors out on the line. Longest run willl be ca two feet, most probably shorter.

Tight Flangway on Peco HO Turnout
I discovered today that I have a tight flangway on one of my peco turnouts.
I'm looking for suggestions on repairing it in place.
The red square shows the area of tightness. My NMRA track gauge can almost stand up on it's own between the 2 points marked perpendicular to the track..
Any help is appreciated!

DC vs DCC in the same locomotive........
..........I have always wanted to be able to show people how much better a given locomotive runs with DCC vs DC. I had just the chance lately when I re-motored and tuned up an old New Jersey Custom Brass O scale Alco S-1 for a friend.
