Dream and design
favorite part of the hobby
What parts of the hobby do you love and which parts do you hate (or like the least)? Looking at recent posts, particularly “What’s on your work bench” and Rob’s post about rebuilding an older Geep. It appears: Rob enjoys rebuilding older models. Dick hates wiring and I enjoy building wooden kits.

New project: A free-lanced D&RGW branch line in HOn3
Guys, I am planning for my next modeling project, an HOn3 layout depicting a free-lanced D&RGW branch line located in Colorado. I have a small space (EDIT: 8.5' x 9' spare room) and want to build a modular layout that can be disconnected and moved when necessary. The equipment I will be running requires a minimum radius of 18", but I want to try to keep it to 24" wherever possible...meaning around-the-room may be a better design for my space. Anybody tackle a similar project who can share their suggestions and thoughts?

Mt Washington Cog Railway LEGO set
Like the thread that was started last week giving people the opportunity to express what is missing from the RTR locomotive market, the LEGO company actually has a site where people can submit ideas for new sets.
One of the sets currently trying to make it to 10,000 votes for a shot at becoming an actual set, is a build depicting the Mt Washington Cog Railway: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/77539

Locos you want to see produced? [EDITED] (more steam inclusive)
What 1:1 locomotives do you want to see produced (RTR/kit) ?
[EDIT] manufacturer names removed
STEAM LOCOMOTIVES ARE WELCOME!
Several "big names" in the model model railroading industry are MRH sponsors, so it might provide them some persuasion
Things to include would be:

Anyone want to design their own little people?
- Get some free software for designing your figure from Makehuman;
- When you have your figure designed the way you want it, export it in a format Shapeways can work with (these are the formats Makehuman can export in, note .dae, .obj, .stl)
- Send it off and see what you get back...

HO Minimum radius
I have recently been given the use of a room with overall dimensions shown below. I am working in HO standard guage. However it is an irregular sized room and I have to allow access to two parts of it. I am considering several benchwork options and want to know about minimum radius for 2nd generation diesels. Well, late first and early second. I have an Atlas Trainmaster that is my pride and joy and also am planning on having several of my favorite locomotives, the SD40-2.
Tudor and Bowl City Limited
hey all.
I'm going to be starting, probably next year an N-scale layout of two hollow core doors.
this is an initial trackplan, and I'd like opinions:
