N Scale BQ23-7

I have always had a soft spot for SCL's BQ23-7's, since I have learnt how to draw to produce 3D printed objects this was one project that had been on the bucket list for a long time.

First task was to assemble everything I needed, an Atlas B23-7, a set of Blomberg truck frames from Atlas, decals and paint for CSX.

I dismantled the locomotive and measured up and drew up the cab in Sketchup.

Construction of the Second Spline Helix - Part 3 - DCC Testing

I finally finished the second of two spline helices for my N-scale layout that is under construction.  I have included a video, this time with sound, since it is a sound equipped engine, that shows the results of the first DCC test of the second helix.

need containers????

this is a product review of an item that is new to me. about 2 weeks ago i received an email from Lord Maurice asking me if I'd do a review of his product. these are made of card stock & when assembled they are pretty strong. as i mentioned in the vid, A sharp or new exacto blade should be used. they are nicely detailed for what they are. some have slight weathering & door hinges are printed in. this is an easy & affordable way to fill up your IM yard

update #4.... yard trackage!!!!

to all .....i have been messing around test fitting my yard & surrounding industry tackage..so far everything is working out as per my drawing. i stand corrected for miss- naming one of my industries it's SAN PLUMBING SUPPLY not SUN...the area to the right of "FLEX FOAM" i will be adding some more frame work so i can put a few sky-scrapers to represent phoenix proper.i also added some LED lighting & a piece of back drop at the hole in the wall
enjoy the video & thanks for watching

Procrastinating or what?

OK. I'm in a funk. I've got all these tortoise switch machines that, I assume, can do power routing to my frogs but want to plan for DCC controls of the mainline switches (future JMRI) but really don't feel confident about getting started.

Tank Car

In some way this is a tank car too: smiley

These two tanks are made as a 3D-print; they are also useable for a chemical industry or similar ...

The loads have to be removable for FREMO-like operations.
