Modelling Bridgewater, South Australia in 1:87

Hi All,

This here is a blog, that will follow the development of my new exhibition layout, based on the prototype location of Bridgewater in the Adelaide Hills. Originally, this station was a terminus for suburban services over the steeply graded Mt Lofty Ranges, east of Adelaide, however with the opening of a new freeway, allowing commuters to travel to Adelaide in less than 20 minutes, the passenger services were cut back to Belair (on the Adelaide side of the ranges).

More Crude Pipeline and Rail Articles

I just added a comment to my post

http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/14198

which includes more information about small refineries in North Dakota which are being built near the shale fields. There is also another article on pipeline construction. I think it's possible to combine all these elements together on a layout.

Humor>Model Railroad Terms as Others May See Them>02/03/14

Have you ever wondered what others see when they listen to a conversation between a group of Rounders? Maybe something like these:

I have updated and moved the pictures to the Freight Car Terms post to save room and time.

NOTE: You may be able to see the pictures better if you click on them.

The Modern Era

Thanks IAISfan for the suggestion about Lance Mindheim. I do read his blog, and I've already got two of his books. His incredibly realistic modern era modeling is one of my inspirations - although I dare say Los Angeles is every bit as interesting a modeling subject as Miami.
