Building a wireless DCC system with Arduino and XBee
Hi all,
Currently, my DCC control system consists of two systems, with 'junction box' set up to allow me to safely switch between the Lenz system (which I use for testing) and the SPROG3/JMRI WiThrottle system (which I use for operations).
To be perfectly honest, I'm not really happy with either system. The Lenz system only offers a modified cordless phone as a wireless controller. A third-party wireless throttle is available, however, it is expensive, and this price includes features that I won't normally use.
Richlawn RR V2 - Converting to LED layout lighting
Many of you have been following the various threads here on MRH about using LEDs to light your layout. I've become a believer of using LEDs after seeing Michael Rose's layout and seeing how great they look (to me) in person. ( http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/20664 ).

This is a great video for step by step way to operate and run a railroad. Enjoy very clear and good video.
IAIS Grimes Line: Up and Running Again
Track has been installed and wired on the Fleur Yard expansion of my IAIS Grimes Line layout. Tonight I was able to test out the new procedures with the yard, and how it would work in an op session.

I acquired the plan of a High lift rotary coal dumper, nearly the same which is still in use at Sandusky.
Update #3 for the CNW Watersmeet Engine Terminal Relocation
I have added the basic scenery forms, using the blue/pink rigid insulation.
First attempt at a real layout...
I have been reading, researching, collecting hardware, building structures, and weathering rolling stock for a few months.
Now it's time for a layout!
I am going to document my progress here because I am excited to get some feedback.
The Ultimate Narrow Gauge Railroad - 1894 Style
Eighty-one years ago this month, the first issue of Model Railroader was published. Model Railroad Craftsman, less than a year old, was known simply as the Model Craftsman. The Model Craftsman covered railroad topics as well as sailing and flying models.
Light Test...
A test board ~5" long with 12 3528 SMDs wired in groups of 3 (series)... It is a bit higher than the backdrop but that is only due to the shelf supporting being at that height for right now (need to build the proper supports still)
