Buffalo Creek & Gauley 2-8-0 #13, modeled using LEGO

Hello friends and modelers.

This is my first post on MRH. My name is Glenn Holland, I'm a young mechanical engineer in the rail industry, and my modeling efforts are done with Lego bricks. I've been building and seriously modeling trains for about 12 years now.

Here is my newest model: I chose the Buffalo Creek & Gauley 2-8-0 Consolidation #13.

1.5v Bi-color red/green leds and 1.5V surface mount LED's, fiber optic

Does anyone know where I could pick up some of these? They'll mostly be used for locomotive marker lights, ground lights, and backup lights. I would prefer to stick with 1.5V bulbs as I've always had success with those over anything else.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Middle School Model Railroad: public facing model railroading

The railroad I’ve been building with kids in my middle school classroom is sectional - designed to dismantle and store every summer because my room gets used by a summer camp program and then again by a Maker Fair

The Hills Line - Waterways in Iowa City

Progress update on The Hills Line, as the creeks, rivers, and other waterways have been carved, along with the bridges, piers, and abutments being painted and installed. First up is the multi-span crossing of the Iowa River, south of Iowa City.

Suitable Sound Files for Diesel Boxcab

I'm planning to add sound to my remotorized MDC boxcab. I'd like to add a loksound decoder and was curious to know which sound file would be the closest to an actual AGEIR boxcab. For the record, the specific locomotives I'm replicating are Erie 19 and 20 boxcabs used at Harlem 149th Street Station.

Best regards!
