3D Printed CN Woodchip Cars

I've been working on and off since 2014 on a project to model both CN series 878000 and 879000 woodchip cars. These were (and some are still in revenue service) built from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s by Transcona Shops and NSC.

Unmodified 40ft Boxcars in Pulpwood Service

I'm actually in the process of building a small paper mill switching layout. While looking at pictures, I've seen one depicting several sidings in a pulpwood yard at Rumford, ME. On these sidings were old 40ft unmodified boxcars in pulpwood service. Some conveyors were located here and there. It seems unloading was done almost all by hand. Given the Maine Central paint scheme on a few boxcars, it was a 1950s scene.

HO 10' Plug Doors

Over the year, I often found out many excellent RTR models would be a good starting point for some project, however, they would need replacement doors, namely 10' plug doors.

Central Vermont Paint Color

I'm actually planning to repaint and custom decorate diesel locomotives in Central Vermont Green & Yellow paint scheme from the 1980s. However, I have a hard time finding the right color.

Does anybody have an idea which color or mix is suitable for the CV Larson Green?

Suitable Sound Files for Diesel Boxcab

I'm planning to add sound to my remotorized MDC boxcab. I'd like to add a loksound decoder and was curious to know which sound file would be the closest to an actual AGEIR boxcab. For the record, the specific locomotives I'm replicating are Erie 19 and 20 boxcabs used at Harlem 149th Street Station.

Best regards!

JMRI Operation - Question About Managing a Shared

I’m actually trying to figure out how use a pool of car for two similar industries in JMRI Operation.

Basically, the layout has two different lumber yards which have different trailing point position. It means cars have to be dropped off at other locations (the closest yard) to be picked up by the opposite direction train back to staging.

-Léo Cauchon – Facing East – Receives Lumber from Limoilou, ships Empty to Limoilou. Empty are sent to Beaupré Yard before being picked up by westbound train #523 en route to Limoilou.

Question: Erie last steam locomotives in freight service

When designing a small Erie "protofreelanced" switching layout based on Dayton Branch, OH, I got interested into the last steamers that worked on Erie tracks, mainly circa 1952.

One Town Layout in 12' x 10'

The design bug caught me during the holidays and I started to think about a one town very early 1950s layout. Though this concept has probably no chance to see the light, I find the process amusing and I always learn something while doing so. I thought it could be nice to share it. Funnily enough, when designing this project, I quickly stumbled upon James Six's own layout thread which share many common traits. http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/31700

Help With Erie Refrigerator Cars

I'm actually in the process of replacing my fleet of foobies with more accurate model for my Erie 149th Street Harlem Station layout. Hunting specific Erie cars is high on my list since it helps define the home railroad.
