Paper Mill Machinery (Gotta Love the Scrapbox)

I plan to have complete interior lighting on my Washington Northern layout. That includes my largest industry and structure on the layout, the Raven Pulp & Paper Mill. Since there are several large bay doors in the mill complex that have been modeled open, some sort of interior representation was needed. After a online search of paper mill machinery and interiors, I had a pretty good indication of the type of things that could be modeled, and of course, would need to be scratchbuilt. I have several large boxes of scrap parts that I have accumulated over the years.

Subroadbed on the SP&S shelf layout

With work progressing slowly I have been able to start the subroadbed which really starts to make the railroad start to come to life. I hope that I can quickly finish the subroadbed and move on to the cork roadbed.

Put Down the Brush

I had a lot of work planed to today, and I was even doing quite well with it.  But as i was going along, I realized I was making shortcuts and mistakes left and right, and the results were unnecessarily ugly to look at.

We have been Lucky...

With the recent Tornados moving into our State the Hl&B RR was Lucky to have dodge them for now. The First batch moved into Raleigh and headed our way cutting a path right toward us, then, from the basement the all clear came and the sun came out and the birds were back. Not so Lucky was the county NE of us, they got hit very bad and people were killed. They say, for what ever reason, the tornados went up, and over my little town and into the next county over. The area we are in only had minor things, like missing shingles and down trees. We had no power all night that night.

Easy Model Railroad Inventory Upgrade

A new version of Easy Model Railroad Inventory has been released. I believe this release has a number of additions that have been requested.

Tony Pawley ex UP KATO GP35, now converted into NdeM #8218 (hi nose)

Tony: This is what your loco has become. It has a SOUNDTRAXX sound decoder & a CANON hi nose to resemble prototype, as it looked like in the early 70's, probably pulling the AZTEC EAGLE from Mexico City to Laredo/ TX.

Some NdeM/FNM roster pics

Hi everyone. I'm enjoying a few easter days off, and I have taken some pictures of some of my custom painted locomotives.

Most of them are craftmanship of Juan Aguilera, the equivalent of George Micklus in Mexico City. Juan besides being a superb modeler has been also one of my best friends for almost 15 years, I just wished he could have some more time to paint & decal the rest of my locomotives in a faster manner.

Hi!

I just found this website and think its real cool.
