Soundtrax Sound Decoder

Hi, Jack from Star, Idaho.  I finally received my three truck 70 ton Spectrum Climax as a replacement for the defective Shay I sent back.  They sent me one that has DCC but no sound.  Where can I find the Tsunami sound chip that is factory installed?  Bachmann shows the speaker but no information on the decoder.  the PC Board shows the motor function decoder but not the sound.  Soundtrax says that the decoder can be added but no information on the part number or decoder number.  Does anyone have any ideas where I can find one of these?  I don'

Alcove Expansion: Part 2 - Benchwork / Risers & Cleats

My latest fun on the alcove expansion is making over 40 risers with cleats. The picture below is a pile of them with half being 12" long and half 18" long.  The risers are 1 x 3's and the cleats are 1 x 2 x 6".  I glued the cleats onto the risers with yellow glue clamping them while I nailed in to finishing nails to hold everything together while the glue dried.

Port Andrews City Streets

It's finally happened........I went ahead and made an executive decision several weeks ago and decided on the arrangement of my buildings for the mean City Streets of Port Andrews. Here are the partially finished results. Still a lot of details to add, interior lightening to instal, etc. I also plan to model the full electrical system for the downtown area eventually.  Many more pictures and detailed descriptions of the area and modeling techniques on my website on the photos page. http://wnrr.net

Any and all comments are welcome.

Culvert

I recently completed a small culvert on my layout and I'd like some comments from the group on its appearance. I used real rocks, gravel and sand secured with white glue followed by a wash of brown acrylic paint in the "wet" area. On top of that I added two coats of gloss medium and added highlights by dry-brushing white acrylic paint.

Paper models

Just came across this site:

http://www.ss42.com/pt-buildings.html#10

where you can download paper model templates of buildings and such. Can be used as plans for scratchbuilt models or as temporary fillers for those empty spots. And they are free!.

Become involved in the future of Easy Model Railroad Inventory

If you have thoughts about a feature you think would be useful, start a thread on the Model Railroad Hobbyist forum with Easy Model Railroad Inventory in the subject field.

Other users will see the thread and comment. I will also see it and use it as a source for new features.

Please keep in mind that some things are easy, some difficult, some extremely difficult. If a suggestion is only supported by a few, the chances are it will not be done depending on the difficulty.

What happens when you cross a lighthouse with a lift bridge?

I wanted to add a lift bridge to my layout.

And I wanted a lighthouse.

But I didn`t have room for both.  So a little plastic surgery was in order.

These are the two victims of my bashing:
