Richlawn Railroad - The Henderson Building - Close to completion
I'm reaching the point of completion / abandonment of the Henderson Building; that is, I'm close to finishing it, but sick of working on it. It is at this point that I put it on the shelf and let it age while I start another structure with the hopes of returning to do the final finish before putting it on the layout.
Why didn't anyone tell me?
Hello all!
Thanks again for such a warm welcome.
New Haven Power on the Bourbon River Sub (pictures repaired)
New Haven power often shows up on the Penn Lake Railway...
My latest project is New Haven RS11 #1402. This isn't a completely accurate job, as I used an EMD steam generator set, I had on hand, instead of an Alco set. The funky Hancock air horns sold me on the project. I may do something different with the black bell as it currently disappears.
Easy Model Railroad Inventory How To #5 (Operations Research Sources)
I have been asked to write a blog entry about operations and Easy Model Railroad Inventory. Before I do that I think it is appropriate for me to explain how I approached my research. I started on a number of model railroad forums where I found a number of threads, which lead to many others sources, both on the Internet and published books and articles.

My new Man Cave
I've created a small "man cave" in the corner of the basement for my model workshop. (I selected "Benchwork" from the category options because there was nothing close).
Started out as cold storage room / root cellar. We've been using it as a storage room for years. Took two pickup truck loads of stuff to the dump. Put down a subfloor (dri-core) and framed in some OSB walls with some styro-sheet insulation between the studs. The right wall is half peg board.

Some parts of the track plan For my Tehachapi layout.
