Bridging the gap...to get started
While I work on the backdrop I have decided to start a little project in order to be ready for the subroadbed. I have a three track underpass that will be in the middle of a curve that I need to have done so everything else lines up, I hope. Here is a mock up of the first bridge of the underpass:

Free parts ...
Seems like everyone either has a computer printer die, or knows someone whose printer died. If you let the word out that you want one they tend to come out of the woodwork. Inside you will find it has a wealth of gears, springs, shafts, motors, wiring harnesses, and other goodies!
Iantha branch roster
Hello again every one. Thank for welcoming and I don't mind answering questions. Best way to see what going on with my layout is to go to my youtube channel. Link is in my signature. Anyway the piont of this post, my loco roster. Still working on expanding it (one can never have too many locomotives )
I don't know why the pictures are so grainy. They aren't like that on my computer

Uncoupling Cars
The benchwork on The Greater Nickel Plate is finished and we are awaiting next month's "allotment" for homosote and backdrop material - pictures to follow soon. In the meantime, I have been looking over the trackplan and have a question for those who have railroads up and running.
First post
Hello every one, this is my first post here. I am in the proces of building up a layout. It's currently a 4x8 with a good amount of operating track. I "model" the Frisco in the late 70's with MoPac and MKT interchanges. My line is a made up portion of the Frisco, The Iantha Branch (hence my screen name). I run DCC as well. I will try to get roster photo's up some time soon for y'all.

Short Line Boxcars (pictures repaired)
I have a weakness for Short Line/Incentive Per Diem Boxcars. In additiion to a number of Bev Bel cars I've acquired, I also have a growing fleet of custom painted cars.
These two are Atlas Trainman Boxes done using some old Herald King decals:

Bakersfeild Yard.
this is a redesigned version of the Bakersfeild yard of my layout. It is only the yard and mainline. But it is enought to get the level started. I was not happy with the original version. I think this is a better representation/flavor of the yard I am trying to model. That is, given the space I hve to work with.
I will be ripping the wood at some point over the next 2 weeks. I have to pray the weather holds for us here in So Cal.

Hall's Seafood Shack
The newest addition to the Tideflats waterfront is Hall's Seafood Shack. This is a Bar Mills Waterfront Willy's/Trackside Jacks kit. The kit was built fairly close to instructions with a few touches and details added to better reflect a more modern business. This kit was really a fun little project. This was my first Bar Mills kit, and I would highly recommend them based on my experience here.
Designing Winslow Mills - My First HO Adventure
It is finally time to get something built in HO scale. In this entry I am going to describe the layout I am planning with a focus on the 20"x120" section I am going to start with. The larger layout will include Waldoboro on the Maine Central's Rockland branch but my first effort will be focused on the village of Winslow Mills a few miles to the northwest of Waldoboro.
