Prototype information
Researching Oberle Jarde
In researching my prototype location, which is Richmond ,In there was an online industry by the name of Oberle Jarde. I tried to do a search on the internet for them and came up with nothing. Does anybody know what type of business this was? I did find out that they were getting 15-20 carloads a month, but I have no idea what that was.
CSX Derailment in Aleaxandria, Va
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - A CSX freight train derailed early Saturday morning in Alexandria. Officials said there were no injuries reported, and a total of 30 cars were derailed
Alexandria police said the derailment happened just after 7 a.m., after a bridge partially collapsed. Police closed Wheeler Road between Early and Gordon streets as a result of the derailment.
If you were to start over today what era and area might you choose to model?
If you were given a chance to do it all again, knowing what you know now, what time period would you choose to model. It can be as specific as you like from a particular day to a decade to model or more if so inclined. It could also be a moving time period such as Joe F. did on his layout changing year by year as he moved from the beginning to the end of his decade.
The difficult decision to model something different
I was born and raised in Las Vegas and for the past 10 years I have been building a model railroad based on the Central Nevada mining railroads of the WWI era. I love researching these railroads and then designing a building a model that brings it to life again. Finding Myrick's books on railroads of Nevada while in college is what led to my life-long interest in railroad history and model railroads.

I was interested in modeling a horizontal color light signal as seen below, possibly using a Tomar TO Signal as a starting point. Can you post your modeled TO signals, semaphore, light, or other? Also ideas for lighting, control, and fascia panels would be appreciated. I am looking for ideas and inspiration.
