Cattle cars on the Monon railroad
I am trying to find information on if and when the Monon Railroad had cattle cars as part of their fleet of rolling.stock. I have tried to google the topic but have not come up with any information. Also if they did what were the road numbers used?
Looking for information on CP Rail Wisconsin & Iowa
Hi everyone,
I'm planning a railfan trip into some uncharted waters to see/photograph the CP Holiday Train in Wisconsin & possibly along the Iowa - Wisconsin border.
To make this a bit easier I was looking for some track charts or ETT's for:
- the C&M Sub
- the Watertown Sub
- & whatever lies between Guttenberg IA & LaCrecent MN
Blue prints of Erie L-1 camelback mallet?
I'm searching blue prints or good drawings of ERIE L-1 camelback mallet, here a picture of this steam engine. Construction of brake gear is of especially interest.
Whe knows persons, sources, links where I could ask for help?
Thanks to all beforehand for your help!
detailing coach interiors
I have the Roco model of the Kombiverkehr Rollende Landstrasse coach Model number 45474 DB-AG
I wish to fit interior lighting and fit passengers but before I do that I would like to paint the interior with some correct colours as the interior is only in a dark brown plastic, I have tried to find some detailed pictures of the interior but had no luck so far, if anyone could help with my search I would be most grateful.

Bad electrical contacts happen to real trains too
Looks like getting good electrical contact can be a problem in real railroads as well. Here in the North Bay, we are anticipating the beginning of commuter rail service on the new Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) system. It looks like the service will not meet the "late 2016" launch date due to malfunctioning signals. Why?
Here is a quote from The Argus Courrier:
"In SMART’s case, the problem is thought to be related to the cars not making proper contact with the rails, Rabbitt said.
Plain Bearing Truck Weathering (Prototype)
I’m a steam-era modeler - and steam-era means plain bearing trucks. Plain bearing trucks - especially the wheels - “dirty up” in a much different way than modern roller bearing trucks - they’re oily and gunky in a fabulous way.

Walters NSC well car (3-unit)
I bought a 3 pack of these cars, but there is no drawbar to connect the 3 cars together. Are they supposed to come with one or do I have to get it separately?
There is a coupler on 1 end of 2 of the cars, that's it.
