Muddy Creek - A Backdrop on the 8th Sub
The scene above my west end staging helix was crying out for some finish work. So what's happening over there?
Why don't Sci-fi and Model Trains Mix?
Here's my random post of the year.
For those of you here that I sometimes think take this hobby way too seriously......
...with your " prototype this and prototype that", is it real or is it a model discussions and who obsess over the tiniest details like when to and not to ring the bell on your sound equipped loco I present this.....

Now, I agree, probably not the safest thing to do in the world but it gave me a much needed laugh!

2nd Video Camera Car build
FYI: This is my build for the 2nd video Camera car.
The 1st Video camera car works great and nothing is wrong with its performance. The Car and Video Camera combination are a solid and stable platform able to get multiple angles and the ability to quickly turn the camera around without removing the car from the layout.
So way build a 2nd Video Camera car?
A1: Having two Video camera cars rove the layout at Ops night might = Twice the fun like the double mint twins.
MRH marketing merchandise - I want to purchase a T-shirt, please!
I would love to have a few MRH T-shirts that I can wear to my RR clubhouse, train shows, etc. I hereby commit to purchase a minimum of (2) two MRH T-shirts (size XL) at a maximum price of $12.00 each (excluding shipping). I would also be interested in a hat, coffee mug, and mouse pad.
Are there others out there willing to make a commitment? If so, please post here or perhaps Joe F can set up a pole?
Joe, please consider selling promotional material! I would be proud to wear, own & display MRH stuff. Think about the additional advertising! What do you say, Joe?
Destroying the Illusion
I’m talking about the moment when the thought: “Is it a model?” turns into “Yep, it’s a model”……….
I am curious about what people think are the primary culprits when it comes to realism killers.
This isn’t intended to be an opportunity to criticise people’s work but more a way of identifying improvement opportunities.
As Prof Klyzr says “Aim to Improve” and there never was a better bit of advice.
Right of Way Acquired!
We've started moving in to our new house, so I have now secured the ROW. Here's a picture of the future home of my Los Angeles Junction Railway:
30 yard western done.... for now.
It is summer up here in the north. Too nice out to do any modeling but during a couple of days of rain I finished the 30 yard western. At least for now as I want to rust it up a bit.
I put the Walthers Diffco in the back for comparison.
