Hold the vitriol - one man's opinion
Let me say at the outset that this is NOT aimed at or intended for any one person, group, point of view, or in any other way any subset of humanity. This is just my opinion, based on my own experience, and I feel like sharing it. While I'd like to think that writing this might improve the world by a miniscule amount, I admit that I might be wasting my time completely.
Eddy Current Drive for Model Railroad Engines
I started a web post a while back looking for more information on an Australian company called Model Torque and their unique drive system they called "Automatic Torque-control Couplings" After a few months of research I have come up how they did it. It is based on the eddy current phenomenon. If you're still with me then take a look at what Wikipedia says about this phenomenon.
Weekend (and Monday) Photo Fun 8/30 - 9/2/13
Didn't see anything yet so I thought that I'd kick this off. Since I don't have a layout at present I've included a picture of some of my railroad room decorations. In this case it's the "L&N" letters (from Hobby Lobby) which will later be mounted high up on my wall. The HO loco is to show the relative size.
Blogs?
This may have been already asked, or it may be like the Geico commercials, everybody already knows that...I m sorry but i dont. How do you start an MRH blog?
1st Loco on Richlawn Railroad V2!
So how crazy do you have to be to stick a piece of track and a loco on top of an unfinished bench top just so you can hear the prime mover rumble and run it back & forth for the three feet? As crazy as me! It's sitting there rumbling while I'm posting this and it just gets my juices going!
Cornhill & Atherton Turntable Test
To be honest, this is as more a test of me taking a video and uploading it to YouTube..........
However, the turntable works with zero wobble which I am very pleased with, having spent an age building to tight tolerances and doing a lot of adjustment.
Need to work on camera focus but everyone has to start somewhere
