Modeling general discussion

Can you say JACKPOT?

I went to a local auction with a friend of mine yesterday where the place was selling off a large conglomeration of HO, N and railroadiana. I didn't have much money with me, and I honestly didn't expect to do much more than look. We went in early to check out what was on the tables, and lo and behold, the guy was a fifties era modeler (like myself) with just an absolute boxcar load of stuff. I immediately counted out the locos and cars, I have more than enough and they were all Southern, L&N and Tennessee Central pretty much, which I have no interchange with in WV.

Jim Six's Blogs

Did I see a post from Joe recently that stated that he would be restoring Jim's deleted blogs?  Joe, if that is so, any idea when they will be resurrected?

Rail Line Closure Sign

Hello everyone,

I've been looking for pictures of a line closure signage. My situation would be something along these lines, a passing siding that is out of order and needs repair.

How is this handled on the prototype?

Thanks,

Leroy

SW Florida Model Railroaders?

Hi folks...

I've set up a group on meetup.com hoping to meet a few fellow modelers in the SW FL area to shoot the fat and chew the breeze now and then. If you're interested (or know someone who might be), go to the meetup site and search for 'SWFL Model Railroaders'. I aim to keep it casual, and no big commitments (time or money).

Thanks!

Verne

Coupe/Pickup Truck

In a photo on Jim Six's blog, I noticed a 1930 something coupe which had apparently been converted to a pickup truck by inserting a mini truck bed into the trunk area. Some searching on the internet showed that this wasn't an owner made mod, but an actual design sole by Chevy from 1936 to the early 1940s.

That pesky white balance....

I bought one of the new Athearn modernized FGE reefers (w/sound) today and set it up in my photo booth as soon as I had it out of the box.

The first shot I took had everything set to "automatic"....

...and then I thought, you know, I oughta set my white balance and change a few other settings.
