Modeling general discussion

Landscape or portrait?

Two shots about my Redstone Branch layout in the "portrait" vertical format.
In these cases, it seems to me right the vertical cut.
It's OK? Is the right choice?
I don't see photos in this cutting way.
Landscape vs portrait shooting mode. When just one and when the other one.

Sound Editors?

Just thought I'd throw this out there as there are a number of you that do sound editing.  So what do you use to edit your sound files and compile it into a "soundtrack?"  I used a couple packages years ago, but haven't done much in about 10 years, so I thought I'd see what people suggest.  And if its inexpensive, all the better.  Thanks.

I probably shouldn't ask this, but........

.....Here I was, enjoying my morning coffee and catching up with Jim Six's latest post about "too much", and I had to go do this thing called "work" half way thru reading....I come back not 30 minutes later and POOF! it's gone, and not just that thread, but all his threads!

Please, PLEASE don't tell me that what WAS on the first page or two a VERY civil discussion, got out of hand by page three, and was taken down, or God forbid, Jim said "the Heck with this abuse" and took his toys and left MRH for good.

Preserving CA and Primer

I've read about freezing CA adhesives to prolong their shelf life.  In my limited experience of doing this, it seems to work.

Recently I purchased some of the Microscale Microbond CA adhesive along with a bottle of the Microprep primer that they recommend for slippery plastics.

Would any of you chemists out there know if the primer should also be frozen for storage?

Thanks in advance.

Railway Design Associates

Is anyone familiar with Railway Design Associates? I had never heard of them until today, when I came across one of their products on eBay. Their Fisherman's Co-op looks like it might fill a need on my layout. Transplanted from harbor side to rural Tennessee, it looks like it would make a credible tobacco warehouse.

Since I have never seen any RDA models up close, not even a decently large photo, I wonder about the detail and quality of their kits.

Testors Paint Line

Any word on the status of Testors product lines?

Spotlight on details. What is missing?

Some close-up pictures from my new layout Redstone Branch.

I don't know ... but I think that something is missing.

Good weekend to all, friends modelers.

How to make your wife happy (Air brush compressors)

If you airbrush and want to save a few bucks over the higher price name brand compressors, and the wife does not like the noise the cheaper contractor compressors make, look at the California Air Tools line.

I just hooked up and aired up the 6 Gallon model and my wife said she couldn't hear a thing from the other room.

Just my 2 cents for the day
