Modeling general discussion
Heavy Duty Flat Car Loads.
I had posted this earlier in Luis' posts on freelancing as link, but I felt it deserved to be brought out on its own. I know we had a flatcar load discussion going on, but here are two loads for all you guys modeling modern, today railroads. Note the length and the number of trucks under each. I forgot where I found this, but I believe it said these were being shipped to Brazil.

Weekly Photo Fun -- September 12th to September 18th
As we in Southern Alberta have decided to skip fall and head straight into winter, its time to start up this weeks photo thread.
As always, we get as much out of your in-process photos as we do the highly polished "all done" shots!

SCARM Train Layout Software v.0.9.25
The new figures are horizontal and vertical cylinders and will allow drawing of objects, structures and rolling stock, like the small engine showed below:

You can learn a lot from Dave's modeling. I wish JoeF would get him to do some articles or appear on TrainMaster TV.

Moving (Again!) to LA
Well..life moves fast sometimes, and even though I just moved, it looks like I'll be moving ot Los Angeles in the next few weeks.
I know the area fairly well, and with that knowledge is the understanding I won't have layout space (at least not for the next 12-24 months). I'm wondering two things, that maybe MRH members can help me with.
1. Is there a club in the area? I'll be looking to live south of LAX, Hermosa/Redondo Beach, Torrance area.
3D Printers outside the U.S.
I wanted to ask for some information on 3D printing in countries outside of the U.S. For the membership living outside the U.S., do 3D printers have searchable online catalogs like Shapeways has? http://www.shapeways.com Can you order items from their websites directly?
Is it possible to collect a number of links to these companies that have model railroad items?

What can a GE 44 toner pull...
Just a question outa curiosity. I picked up a pair of bachman 44 tonners a while ago just because I love the little things. In the modern car/weight era what would one or two of them together be able to pull this day and age. I seen videos of them in service recenlty but always with just a car or two. Trying to figure out what the max is so speaking just in case I feel like running them regularly without it looking off so to speak.
Thanks in advance
Kevin
Details West
Does anyone know what the status of Details West is? Recently I haven't been able to access the website, and as of yesterday the name no longer returns a hit from Google. I remember there being a good article about detailing SD-9E's.
Best,
Dan

Any idea what these are?
Anyone know what these two circled fixtures are in this picture?
The timeframe is 1966 in Dover, NH. To the right of these is the access road up the slope that is the road connecting the yard to Oak St. The grade is way too steep that there ever could have been tracks there. And anyway that road is the only way in and out of the yard for cars. Unfortunately these are no longer there today to examine.
