Removing flextrack

Removing my N scale track to make way for a TT scale layout on the same benchwork. Thought a few photos of the process might help someone....DaveB

Making magnetic brake hoses, was: Is anybody using the MagnaLock Brake hoses?

Is anybody using the PWRS MagnaLock Brake hoses?

Do you like them?

I'm considering using these for my own layout and I'm looking for any feedback you might have.

Your opinion please - (Decided!) - placement of Tam Valley's Singlet(tm) turnout controls

** UPDATE 12-31-15  I decided to recess mount the turnout controls in the foam top of my layout.  Thanks to all for your input and suggestions.  You can see a video about the fabrication and installation HERE.

Hello all!  I'm asking your advice on the placement of Tam Valley Depot's "Singlet" turnout control panels on my layout.  Here's a picture of the control panel (from Tam Valley's documentation):

Consolidated Stencil

When did the Consolidated Stencil start showing up? I always thought it was 1974, but I have seen at least one source say it was 1970.

The Industry is the Hobby

The Industry is the hobby.

MRH has shown me that this is one of the most cooperative and friendly hobbies and industries out there.  Many of the small companies that make the products we like have owners that have been life long friends and a train show is actually also a reunion.  And they are almost all active modelers.

A simple post in MRH about a technical issue will result in a dozen helpful responses with shared information and new modelers are encouraged and not looked down on as far as I can tell.

German Model Railroad meet. A unique module for Free-Mo?

In the link below you find a German Model Railroad meet from November 2013.  In the N Spur section, first section, about 4:25 in, there is a unique return loop module that is designed to double as hidden or offline staging.  In the video it is holding two trains as a third comes in.  It could probably hold additional shorter trains running DCC.  For guys doing Free-Mo in N scale this would make a unique return loop.  M.C. Is this one to add to your collection?

How are you doing with your Cricut Explore?

I've been reading about the Cricut Explore here on the forum and watching the TMTV videos with great interest. I'm considering getting one but want to know how things are going with those that have had them for a while.

I want to cut out building walls with window and door openings using styrene. I have never used any kind of CAD program and hope to be able to use something relatively simple in my MacBook Pro to accomplish my goals.

Anybody out there using a Mac with their Cricut and have advice for me?
