Hat Cam POV (Point of View) test using my Cube micro camcorder
When I recently was working on the water feature at the base of my Misti Mountain I was disappointed that I couldn't video some of the work as I needed both of my hands to do the job. After thinking about it I thought that I would try out using my new Polaroid Cube micro camcorder attached to a cap (Notice the name on the cap!).
I just took the cap and clamped on a metal spring clamp. The Cube has a magnetic base so I just set it on the clamp and started shooting video. Here's a picture of the rig:

Cricut Explore Air
I have Miles Hale to thank for my Christmas gift. My wife watched the video he did on the Cricut Explore with me and knew I wanted one. Never for one moment expected it but she held on to it for the last gift of the morning. She even got the wireless air version. Very excited! Can't wait to set it up and start some projects.
I am a blessed man!
Merry Christmas to you all.

Primitive Paint Shop Attempt
One can only do so much clicking in MS Paint while trying to plan out a paint scheme or two for a freelanced line (My Idaho Belt RR) before insanity threatens.
MRH End of Year List
Hey, Joe! You rate MRH articles every month with a survey, right? I am pretty sure I remember seeing monthly results in MRH. How about an end of year list of the best of 2015?
How about readers post links to their favorites or most helpful articles for those of us who haven't managed to read every issue?

Brass Chassis ID needed
A friend of mine gave me this chassis today knowing I could use it to make something out of it. The question I have is who made it?
Here are five pictures. Perhaps somebody knows what it was and can point me to a picture of it.

Listen to Joe Fugate on Lionel Strang's podcast, "A Modelers Life"
Spotted this today:
Episode 40: Joe Fugate -
It’s time for our annual state of the hobby address with Joe Fugate, editor and publisher of Model Railroad Hobbyist. I was sure we’d been doing this for several years but Joe was convinced it was only our second time.
We covered all sorts of interesting subjects and Joe was an excellent guest as always.
So sit back with a steaming hot bowl of cookie dough ice cream and enjoy Episode #40: Joe Fugate.

My 12/23/15 visit to Michael Rose
I'm on vacation until the new year, so what better time to visit my good friend Michael Rose! I had a great time as usual and did shoot a few short videos of his laser while he did a demo for me. Here are the videos:
First up, this is the laser engraving the brick pattern in an end wall of his roundhouse.
