Your Earth Color Preference

I am curious as to what color(s) MRH modelers like to use for earth color.

Do you try to match the prototype locale?

or

Do you use a generic earth color?

I usually try to match the earth color to the prototype, but have found some colors, like the color of Missouri red clay, look very unrealistic when used on the layout.

N Scale Layout

I got bored and decided to build a new N scale layout ......reusing most of what I kept over the years.

Benchwork is built by ripping a sheet of 1/2" Birch plywood into 3" wide strips....the sheet I started with was purchased from a local lumber yard that sells quality wood, not the crap that Home Depot or Lowes sells.

The strips are then cut to length for what is needed for a given part..........frames are 2' x 8' with a 1' x 2' tapered section added on 1 end.

Micro-Trains Magazine Survey

Micro-Trains is running a survey to see what magazines the people who see their survey request subscribe to or read.

They've got the N scale magazines of course, and MR, and RMC, but they seem to have forgotten one...

Head on over to the survey and tell them that you subscribe to and read MRH! (Particularly under the "Electronic" question) -

Easy Model Railroad Inventory reaches a milestone.

EMRI has reached a major milestone, 500 Likes on its Facebook page. It is nice because it is a way for me to know the program is still appreciated. It is not easy for a software program that is not advertised or supported in any way other than contributions to succeed. I believe Easy Model Railroader has. Thanks to Bill Brillinger and his company for hosting the download. Without his support EMRI would not be available.
