Prototype scene here
I took this photo last March after a light snow freshened up the landscape. A friend said it would make a great Christmas card, so here it is, Shown is Canadian National (IC) GP38-2 9605:
HO Scale Filler Ties from PDC.CA - Another product born right here in the MRH Forum!
The MRH Community asked for it...
In the course of my Track Painting Experiment, I discovered that trimming ties to fit under rail joiners got old really fast. So, I created thinner ties for filling in the gaps before painting.
There was a lot of interested in these ties and I received numerous requests to release them as new product.
Coal Shed
Another project in the works,
A two track coal shed that was in the December 1979 issue of Model Railroader.
I wanted to build a model of this building ever since I first read the article in the summer of 1989.
Structure Book format choice
Has anyone bought either of the Structure plans books from the MRH store? I was wondering which format is best for this type of book, I see the choices are epub, landscape, or portrait PDF.
As I expect I might want to print out some of the plans I was wondering if one format is better than the others. If anyone has experience with the book and either format I would appreciate any input.
Thanks,
Jim
Oh Canada !
My wife and I are spending our 20th anniversary in Banff at the old CP hotel in December. I am looking for suggestions for any Hobby Shops in the area, AND real railroad interests. I am sure my wife will be spending a LOT of time at the spa...so I know I will have free time to pursue my hobby. Any suggestions, must see places, railroad hotspots ?
Thanks in advance !
Michael
Anyone else getting lots of spam supposedly from eBay?
One method I've used to locate model railroading items coming up for auction on eBay is their saved search tool. Recently I've been monitoring my incoming emails and have noticed that I'm getting a lot of messages that claim to come from ebay@ebay.com but actually are nothing but spam. I'm assuming that this has something to do with the fact I have an active account but I'm not really sure that's the case. I've been forwarding these to spoof@ebay.com and have gotten numerous replies from them identifying these as spam but I sure would like to kn
Day 1 of the Railway Modellers Meet of BC
The first day of the Railway Modellers Meet of British Columbia (http://railwaymodellersmeetofbc.ca) is pretty much done except for the operating sessions which are ongoing as I type. Approximately 100 people have signed up for the meet, participating in the aforementioned operating sessions (Thursday and Friday evening), clinics, model displays and hanging out, talking trains. Tomorrow the RMMBC clinics continue, as does the model display, banquet and other meet activities.
I was insulted by that...
Really?
Maybe it is an underlying insecurity that is the real problem?
Good news from the NMRA (I hope)
In the most recent NMRA magazine, president Charlie Getz has committed to cease commenting about or making reference to his perceived demise/decline of the hobby.
He took a roundabout means to deliver the news, and he still believes that the lack of new product announcements in MR compared to the 1980s augers ill for the hobby. (Does he see the new products in MRH, pages upon pages of them?) But at least he'll leave the issue of "decline" alone.
