Weekly Photo Fun - Dec 13-19, 2020

It's another week . . . post 'em if you got 'em.

Per Laursen's Layout

It doesn't look like Sue and I will get to travel this year.  A very fine holiday gift came through the YouTube today.  One of the people we got to meet a few years ago on our travels was Per Laursen.  He has given us royal tours of his railroad and is a very gracious host and as you can tell in the interview a very fine person too!  We will sorely miss our visit this year!  It was with great happiness that this showed up this morning on the YouTube!  I'd like to share it with you all.  This is not the first time Per's layout has been on YouTub

Tsunami EMD 567 Question

I plan on permanently consisting two F-7s. My question is should I install one Tsunami with dual EMD 567s as found on E units in one of the F-7s or a single EMD 567 decoder in each F-7? I'm going for a tandem sound and, I wonder if I'll get the effect by using a dual EMD 567 in just one of the F-7 units.

New Loco - purchase with or without DCC/sound

I'm getting ready to purchase a new locomotive. As is the case with new locomotives today, I have the choice of DC and adding DCC/sound with after market product, or purchasing with DCC/sound. It's a newly released model, so a 21 pin connector is readily available.

I am going DCC on my layout, but new to DCC in general and I really don't know much about which decoders/sound are preferable, least hassle, etc. I can tell you that the DCC option is paired with ESU LokSound.

Tank car handling in the 1950's ?

Hi All,   I'm planning to have a small fuel distributor on a spur on my layout and was wondering if anyone is familiar with tank car handling in the 1950's era. Was there anything in the general codes requiring spacer cars between engines and caboose and gasoline or other oil products tank cars? Would these rules apply when an engine was spotting a tank car on a spur or just in a train? Any info would be greatly appreciated....DaveB

Cleaning the Train Room

I'm building my train layout inside a 12 x 16 Handi-House shed located in my carport,....early photo..

Its basically a closed room with a single entrance door on that one end.

HELP please !, .....resize a couple of images

HELP please, resize a couple of images

I have 2 images of arches that exist on the viaduct bridge at Balt. I need to resize them so I can print them out accurately in order to more completely finish my mock-up model.

I believe I did this once before, but I am having trouble this morning. What I had done in the past is cropped them to the exact width I wanted to image, then resize them into inches with my IrfanView photo software, then print them out. But for reason I am NOT getting an accurate size print out today ??
