Hello gents!

Anyone out there has an idea on the overall length of this log spine cars? I think they can be build using parts from old Athearn Impack spine cars. Any information will be appreciated.

N Scale Decal Makers

I am looking to model the Arkansas Oklahoma Railroad. I have been looking for decals to repaint a few of their locomotives. The only decals I can find as of now are some AOK decals made for a car carrier. My question is " are there any reasonably prices decal makers that could help me ? " The problem here is most of there signage has white and my understanding that makes these types of decals a monster pain to craft. Many thanks in advance for any and all help.

Revisting Navigational markers

Awhile back a fellow model railroader gave me a great idea for a way to show that my brancline terminus is a coastal one without using a lighthouse - install some navigation markers!

Flip-A-Scene

So, I've been going through some old model railroad magazines, and I ran across something interesting. They called it "Flip-A-Scene", and it involved building two scenes, one on each side of a board, and then attaching it to a layout, or module on a pivot point, so that the scene can be flipped over, and change the scene to something different... either different location, or different era... now, this particular magazine is from 1988, and that many years ago and all, I'm kinda curious if anyone knows of anybody who has actually done this?

A dream of steam: City of New Orleans - a magic carpet made of steam, not steel

Let's get it right:  Arlo Guthrie and Willy Nelson changed the lyrics  -  or misheard them - but Steve Goodman wrote and sang it like this:

Mission Models Paint - A New Acrylic Alternative (Nov 15/17 update)

I did a search for mission models paint, now available from Micro-Mark and others and found nothing in the MRH website. This is a fairly new acrylic paint that is getting rave reviews by Armour and aircraft modelers. I will place a couple of links below of reviews that have been done on this new paint. They claim it is very easy to use both with a brush and an airbrush and gives results very similar to lacquer solvent based paints. Currently there is a very limited colour selection but that should change if demand is there for it.

A few military reporting marks

A few days ago while reading through one of the many postings I came across the post for Ashland Maine.
The sixth image that Chris posted REALLY caught my attention BRAR 14132. It appears to be a salute to our troops.
