3 D Printing Services

I am interested in "other than Shapeways" printing and possible 3 D catalogs that might have Railway/Railroad parts so I did a little google and came up with this:

Need help with building a siding

I need help. I'm installing my first permanent layout and I am making two tracks. The first is simply an outer loop around the table, while the inside is to have a siding and adjacent coal dumping station. The issue is, I cant get the turnout to run parallel to the track. the switches I am using (Atlas Mark IV #6) do not have a turnout radius tight enough to make it run parallel. How can I fix this? If there is a type of track or curve that can correct this please let me know. Any help is appreciated.

Need help creating sidings.

Hello everyone,

I'm currently building my first permanent layout. I am going to have two tracks, the inner is going to have a siding running the length of the table, parallel to the main line. However, When I bought my switches, (Atlas Mark IV #6's) I found that I can't get the turnout section to run parallel to my track. Is there a special piece that I need to make it do this? Or do I just need to buy different turnouts? Thanks for any help.

CA glue tip

Okay, I ran across something by accident, that I'd LOVE to share as a quick tip!

CA glue. Now, generally, we would use a bit of plastic, like maybe an old WalMart bag, or plastic grocery bag, but, that can get messy sometimes, and the CA glue can get to be a bit hard to see on the plastic. I found te solution.

Dollar Store Plastic Paint Pallets.

Sanborn Maps

Not sure if this is a new source or not. People have talked about Sanborn maps for quite some time.

At any rate, this May announcement from the Library of Congress talks about their project to put them all online by 2020.

Joshua Trees

Does anyone make HO scale (any scale, really) Joshua Trees?

Or am I going to have to invent a way of making them myself?

Even a tutorial would be cool (I've looked and keep getting results for post cards, and "U2" swag)

Compact Travel Tool Box

A few weeks ago, I asked about portable workspace lighting due to being on the road recently.  The Ottlite I ended up with is not especially compact, but fits well in a small travel case.

Uggggggh. Why does this always happen?

Just finished an Intermountain PS 4750 kit that has been modified to a Trinity Rail covered hopper with Plano etched parts, and painted and decaled it as well. Then the trouble begins, slight nudge of a poorly placed elbow and there it goes to the floor.

The question is, how often does everyone else get into this issue?

Second question is, where do I find the a ladder and a spare train line without buying a whole new kit? Although that may not be a bad idea since I am building 4 and the spare parts would be handy.
