Video of PN club
A video shot yesterday at the Providence Northern club. I just finished installing a TCS WOW sound in my Westside Brute. I built a unique consist and ran it northbound . The 1985 era layout was taken back in time for a brief time
cinder ballasted track
I have seen images of cinder ballasted track and even crushed cinder platforms, but only in black & white photos.
Has anyone out there modeled cinder ballasted sidings, branch lines, or crushed cinder platforms? I'm currently researching what the look of cinder ballasted track looks like especially aged with the accumulation of dirt on it. I think it would look good on my branch line terminus.
Prototype portable module, possibly a TOMA?
I haven't posted hardly and pictures here because I didn't how to do it. But with the help from a friend I learned tonight. Attached is a picture of a portable, HO module i have used to teach modelers how to switch at RPMs. It is based on an actual, Illinois Central Railroad, wye and spur in Monticello, Il back in the 40/50s.
Enjoy,
Barry

Running trains
After an organized OPS session it is always nice to freely run some trains as well.

Canopy 560 Glue
I'm always a day late and a dollar short so forgive me for being late to the discussion. I am reading the June issue and there is talk of Canopy 560 glue.

Not Much Pink Left.......
on this car, caught this one in the yard waiting for the steel gang to clear up. Took this pic for anybody looking to do some heavy duty weathering. Unfortunately I don't have a pic of the top of the car and I could only get this one side. It looks like IRC put out a model of this car but none available on e-bay right now. The newest paint on it looked to be the FURX reporting marks and even they look well weathered. The car was new in 2-80

Chipping fluid vs. Hairspray?
After reading a lot of different forum posts here and on other forums about the "chipping" method of weathering I'm curious if anyone on this forum has experience using any of the commercial products vs using hairspray. I know of two companies that make a "chipping solution" (Ak Interactive and Vallejo).
To me $5 or 6 for a 2 oz or so bottle of chipping fluid seems a bit high, when I can buy hairspray for about the same price and get more volume.
However, I'm willing to spend the money if someone can convince me that using these commercial products will be better than hairspray.
Rotten Apple???
Hi!
Until very recently I've been using my Canon 70D to take pictures and send them to an iPad for processing and submitting to MRH. It's very comfortable and quick. Then shortly ago I tried to connect to the iPad and the iPad wouldn't recognize the Canon. It continued to look only for the Bluetooth. I've been to talk with Canon and there is no indication that the camera part of the system is not working properly. I believe it's the iPad that is not cooperative.
Anyone had this problem too?
