Tying Down A Rail Load
I am working on a Flat Car that will become part of an MOW 'consist' (is that the right term?). I am Taking inspiration from CP Rail flat car #301578, more specifically from three photos taken by MRH contributor Jurgen Kleylein and posted on the Canadian Freight Car Gallery.

Need airbrush advise
I am considering making an investment in a starter airbrush set. I have narrowed my selection down to two starter sets. One set comes with two dual action, gravity feed brushes and one siphon feed brush. The other kit comes with two siphon feed brushes and one gravity feed brush. Unfortunately I know almost nothing about airbrushes, so here are a couple of questions. What is the difference in the airbrushes? Which kit is best for a novice to start with and why? All advise and input is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Making ePub / Kindle versions of back issues available?
In the thread about our new look coming in January, we mentioned we're also doing what we're calling our Gen3 format, which will include ePub and Kindle options. These are REFLOWABLE, which means the magazine will resize to fit any device screen and you can make the font as large as you need. Plus the images also resize to fit your screen, making for a great reading experience.
The question was posed about going back and reformatting back issues to be reflowable.

November issue closing cartoon
Scott Sacket's cartoon about rolling one's own rails is not far-fetched. In the mid-50s when I was a kid, I remember my Dad making home-made track sections for our Lionel O-27 layout. I can recall the fixture he made out of some steel heavy duty drawer rollers and some how made rails to match the tubular Lionel rail out of scrap tin-plate. The rails were attached to ties cut from a hardboard type material called "beaver board." He made straight sections that were about 18" long with close spaced ties that looked really pretty good compared to t

Trivial request, how about a larger (and improved) set of smilies?
I bring this up because I enjoy them (I know some do not) but the selection is quite meager...
Trouble entering comments
I'm not able to enter anything into the comments section of post on my work computer. It worked fine until last week when the owner's son decided to change the email settings. He's one of those who likes to change things even when they're working fine. Anyway, the browser is IE and I can't even get the curser to show up in the comments box, but I can enter text in the subject line. Since my home computer works fine and the work computer worked up until last week - it must be whatever he did to the email.

How do you read MRH on your iPad?
I usually read MRH on an iPad. Based on recommendations here, I have been using GoodReader. However, one aspect of GoodReader annoys me- if I click on an ad, or a video, I am taken to a new page with the material, but when I am done, there is no way back. The tab is still for the current magazine, a jump out does not create a new tab. The back button is disabled, and there is no done button such as many other apps have.
Old dry transfers
Can anyone help? I have old dry transfers that will not stick to the model. Is there any way to rejuvenate them?
