MRH Magazine general discussion

Lawrence “Dale” Edwards (Kadee)
I went to the Kadee website today to look for something and learned that Dale Edwards passed away earlier this month. Dale was the "D" in Kadee, his twin brother Keith being the "K".
There's a tribute on the Kadee website home page: http://www.kadee.com/
Lawrence “Dale” Edwards Sr.
Co-founder of Kadee®
February 1921 –September 2014
I wonder where we'd be without Kadee couplers?

Blogs
How do you follow someone's blog on the MRH website? I have looked everywhere for a button of sorts and have found nothing.
I am ready for the October issue
I have finished reading the September issue. I am ready for the October issue.
I can't believe it is not out yet.
Joe is probably wasting time sleeping, eating, spending time with family, and working on his layout.

In the wake of Carstens closing ...
We're never thrilled to see a major hobby institution like Carstens close their doors, and we do hope the discussions about the future of RMC and the other magazine titles go well. It's just not good for the hobby to see such a major publisher go under.
This all said, we'd like to make the best of a bad situation in terms of what's best for the modeler.
We're starting to get emails from modelers wondering what's going to happen to their favorite RMC authors going forward.
MRH at National Narrow Gauge Convention
I'm excited to see that MRH is listed as a vendor at the NNGC in Kansas City. Which staff members will be on hand and will any of you be giving presentations (clinics or otherwise)?
Thanks!
Bill

Reader's Rating of MRH Articles
Is there any way for the user to see the rating statistics of various articles? Seeing an article received a rating of 5 stars is pretty useless unless you know how many folks rated it. One person (or relatively few) giving an article 5 stars can not be compared with hundreds of folks giving an article an average rating of 4.5 stars.

Portrait Version
I had been hesitant to try the portrait version on my 7" tablet. I decided to give it a try and I am very impressed with the layout and how it displays. I was concerned that the text would be too small but it is just right for these tired eyes. I now can take MRH to the couch (and to the other seat I often occupy) instead of being chained to my monitor on my desk. Just another way MRH gets better and better for me.

Taking the plunge to digital only
I've been a faithful subscriber to MR and RMC ever since 1967. Just got the bill to renew both and had to admit that I get just as much out of MRH on my Samsung Tablet as I do out of the paper mags. So goodbye paper.

How did MRH approach reviewing DCC at the National Train Show?
Just wondering what MRH did insofar as reviewing DCC in general at the National Train Show? I'm finding a bit here and there but no sign (unless I've missed it) of a DCC overview/synopsis, including new product introductions.

MRH on Apple Newstand
Prior to getting my IPad, I downloaded each issue of MRH into a folder in my PC. Each year I woul Cretan a new folder. Having now had an IPad for sometime, I have downloaded a few versions of MRH on the IPad but seem stuck with having it as a new tab in Safari.
Am I missing something here as in my view it would be really neat if I could put each issue into the Apple Newstand App.
