Micro Engineering Tall Steel Viaduct

Hi gang. I'm looking for some information about designing bridge girders on a slope. One leg of the girder will be 30 feet long while the other will be 40 feet long. What should the cross bracing look like?

6 mobile decoders have been fried in the last 6 weeks

The club I belong to has fried 6 locomotive decoders in about the past six weeks.  We are not sure what is causing the problem.  The CVP Easy DCC system we have has been in use for around two years without a problem. It appears that the decoders have been subjected to voltage spikes.  I have check the power supply multiple times and it is always around 19.6 V AC with no load.  It is rated for 18 V AC.

Any ideas what could be the problem?  What addition information should I provide?

N Scale RDC's - Can they be repurposed?

Even though to date I have been mostly a lone wolf, I have begun thinking more about what operations will be supported and fun (both lone wolf and multiple operators.) Long story short, I have realized that a significant portion of my potential stops are as much or more passenger related than industry:

Hi-railer wheatering

Hi,

Recently I began a project for my father, to get a B'mann NS Hi-railer truck (the one with the crane) layout ready. The truck is track ready out of the box (DCC included) but since we are both absent minded enough to forget the DCC address I rub transferred it's number on the "bed" in 2,5mm numbers. Although it is not what railroads usually do we needed it.

HO Scale track plan, opinions and ideas welcome.

I've gone from a big Christmas tree layout to a double deck with a two track helix and now to this single level semi-modular design.

Deconsist and reconsist

This months issue has a switching problem where the solution involves separating the locos because of a lack of a runaround. I operate on a layout with similar problems. We use NCE. How easy is it to break up and reestablish the consist?Blayne
