Good news from the NMRA (I hope)
In the most recent NMRA magazine, president Charlie Getz has committed to cease commenting about or making reference to his perceived demise/decline of the hobby.
He took a roundabout means to deliver the news, and he still believes that the lack of new product announcements in MR compared to the 1980s augers ill for the hobby. (Does he see the new products in MRH, pages upon pages of them?) But at least he'll leave the issue of "decline" alone.
removing roof from Walthers trainmaster passenger cars
Is anyone else having trouble removing the roofs from the Walthers Trainmaster passenger cars? I have three that I have not been able to get off. (I did get the roofs off on three others)
Stored P2K locomotives
I am aware of the split gear issues with the older blue box P2K locomotives, but I have several that have been stored for many years and I plan to utilize them on the layout that is in the design phase. What can one do to clean the motor when the lubrication turns to the "peanut butter" substance without an all out replacement of the motor?

I don't like to rush things......or at least that's my excuse on the Richlawn Railroad!
I've had my railroad running for well over a year and have been using my Digitrax DCS50 control to operate the trains. This meant that I needed to walk back and forth between it and my turnouts / trains to uncouple cars. The other day I accidently ran into my UR92 wireless panel and figured "Why not go ahead and mount it so I can use my DT402 throttle?
I mounted the panel behind my hinged fascia section and now I can run my trains using my wireless throttle! - what a concept!

RPM Chicagoland
I just got back from an enjoyable time at the RPM Chicagoland in Lisle, IL. Mike Skibbe and company put on a new and improved show and I think the attendees were appreciative. I’m new to RPM meets so I’m not a good judge, but from what I could tell everyone had a great time.
