Cattle cars on the Monon railroad

I am trying to find information on if and when the Monon Railroad had cattle cars as part of their fleet of rolling.stock. I have tried to google the topic but have not come up with any information. Also if they did what were the road numbers used?

A Little Friendly Advice

Hello Fellow Modelers,

It's time for the soap box to appear for a short time.

In the last twelve hours there have been a few topic posts asking for advice on how to use and install different products from a couple of DCC system manufacturers. These advice requests were not extremely technical and actually are quit common. They are also installations and uses that are covered in the manufacturers documentation (i.e. the manuals, etc.). That's the background, now for the advice.

Converting Genesis units to Loksound - resistors for bulbs?

I'm converting my roster to Loksound and adding ditch lights and strobe beacons as needed while I have everything opened up.  However, when it comes to my Athearn Genesis units that already have factory ditch lights, I'm having a harder time convincing myself to swap the bulbs for LEDs, as I've never had a problem with the bulbs, and I was thinking it'd be so easy to just swap boards and go.  BUT...I forgot about the possible need for resistors.

Dead rail DCC and reed switches

I'm planning on using DEAD RAIL Components to power my layout. But I'd still like to connect the DCC portion to RR&Co to control traffic and other things. I've seen a series of you tube videos where reed switches are used for black feedback for the computer.   I'd like to use NCEs system - does anyone know how to connect reed switches to NCEs AIU board to

Looking for information on CP Rail Wisconsin & Iowa

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a railfan trip into some uncharted waters to see/photograph the CP Holiday Train in Wisconsin & possibly along the Iowa - Wisconsin border.

To make this a bit easier I was looking for some track charts or ETT's for:

- the C&M Sub

- the Watertown Sub

-  & whatever lies between Guttenberg IA & LaCrecent MN

Proof that water runs down hill - but this river flows North into Lake Superior

This river and small waterfall is right near my house. Off to the side is a hydroelectric plant built by Westinghouse for Henry Ford so he could build a plant and make wooden car parts, back in the day. They had a camp up here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for hunting, fishing and poker. Many big names came and went from that camp.
