810140 Currentkeeper installed on a GN1000 Soundtraxx board?

I just purchased a 810140 Currentkeeper to be installed in my Athearn Genesis GP7 which has a Soundtraxx board. On the back of the Soundtraxx board it says it is a TSU-GN1000 board.

1) None of the three installation illustrations matches the board I have.

2) It sounds like I need to remove the current capacitor... ????

3) Yes... I am very much over my head.

Can anyone point me to a guide (written or video) that can help?

Just moved - Starting over with a smaller space.

Hi,

I previously had an ambitious layout and plenty of space for it, but it never really got past bench work and pink foam.  This time around I have the opportunity to start over and want to stick with a smaller layout that I can actually make some real progress on.  Once that's done, I can always add on if time allows.

I really like the idea of doing a 4x8 table design, but with a divider down the middle of the long dimension.  So really two 2x8 opportunities with an outer loop connecting everything.

I was insulted by that...

Really?

Maybe it is an underlying insecurity that is the real problem?

Does setting up for ops have to be hard?

Does setting up for ops need to be hard? Must you buy special software to make car cards and waybills? Read this thread and find out ...

I will more or less replicate setting up the same switching area for car card and waybills (CC&WB) that was set up for JMRI in a previous thread here.  Since I am not familiar with the prototype or the specific interests/goals of the JMRI layout, I may not replicate it directly.

Lessons learned from hobby fears

My recent victory over a long-held fear of adding ditch lights has prompted me to think about a number of similar concerns I've had over the years and, once they were behind me, the great rewards I discovered hiding on the other side.  In hopes of encouraging others who might be letting their own phobias get in the way of their hobby enjoyment as I too often do, here are a few of my fears and the lessons they taught me:

How to Model Guttering

This week we're looking at guttering.

N&W Pocahontas District: First Mainline Run

Now that the bench work, track work, and wiring are finally completed on my layout, I can finally run some real trains again, instead of just shifting things back and forth. I've been playing around with the car cards and waybills I'll be using for operating sessions in the near future, but thought I'd take a break and make my first video of the completed mainline run.

For those who have been following my posts up to this point, thanks for your comments and encouragement. I hope the wait to this point was worth it.

G scale track codes

My daughter in law gave me a set of G scale equipment, cars, a beautiful wooden homebuilt tension rod truss bridge, some track, etc.  While my interest has been in HO and O, always wanted to try an outdoor setting, but really didn't want to dilute my meager hobby funding.  I intend to build my own track sections as the cost is prohibitive to me to buy them preassembled, but I'm a bit confused on track codes for G, how does Code 148 do with stock G scale flange clearances?  Read where code 332 is best for outside where animals and people will step on it, and code 250 i
