CA glue tip

Okay, I ran across something by accident, that I'd LOVE to share as a quick tip!

CA glue. Now, generally, we would use a bit of plastic, like maybe an old WalMart bag, or plastic grocery bag, but, that can get messy sometimes, and the CA glue can get to be a bit hard to see on the plastic. I found te solution.

Dollar Store Plastic Paint Pallets.

Sanborn Maps

Not sure if this is a new source or not. People have talked about Sanborn maps for quite some time.

At any rate, this May announcement from the Library of Congress talks about their project to put them all online by 2020.

Yard Ladder System

I have been planning a new basement layout. I am trying to make sure I have plenty of room for my yard and the necessary ladders. I like what I see with the ME ladder system switches, but I'm curious if anyone else had used them? Reliable? How much space does the ladder take up? I printed the templates and laid them out. Looks like the a-e system takes up about 4 linear feet. Is that what others are seeing?

Pre-ordered from 2 different shops

These long lead times for loco pre-orders combined with me getting older makes for model railroading fun.

Help with crossbucks

In the attached image, I have mocked out a road shape from my ice house across the tracks to the "outside". As you can see, it crosses two industry spurs. They are more than a standard double track distance apart. What I need to know is - would there be crossbucks at both tracks or just one pair with - maybe - "Two Tracks" on the posts? Or, maybe as they are industry spurs, no crossbucks at all?

Joshua Trees

Does anyone make HO scale (any scale, really) Joshua Trees?

Or am I going to have to invent a way of making them myself?

Even a tutorial would be cool (I've looked and keep getting results for post cards, and "U2" swag)

Lots of progress on the Office Park Zone

I have managed to get quite a few little tasks done on the layout over the last few days. I painted all the ties, cut out and painted the paved areas for the Latex and Lumber Distributors, painted the road surface, and made some lumber loads.  More details and pictures in a following post.

Tsunami2 vs. LokSound for authentic FM Train Master (H-24-66) sounds?

Good evening! I'm new to the MRH forums, but have found lots of terrific insight here, all for the price of a thunderstorm.

LokSound Functions & Function Mapping - What do YOU do?

So - what functions do you use the most and what buttons do you have them assigned to?

I've been having a good time playing around with my new LokProgrammer and have been pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to change function mapping.

Perhaps TOO easy . . . because I just can't decide how I want to map the buttons.

Compact Travel Tool Box

A few weeks ago, I asked about portable workspace lighting due to being on the road recently.  The Ottlite I ended up with is not especially compact, but fits well in a small travel case.
