Mike Confalone - Allagash Railway weathered freight cars on EBAY
A quick note for anyone interested. I am going to be selling weathered freight cars on EBAY. Some of these will be Allagash Railway rolling stock, and others will be in any number of roadnames. Any cars listed are hand-weathered by me, using many of the techniques discussed in my freight car weathering video series produced by MRH a few years ago. If there is some success, I will be doing this on a weekly basis. I have more than enough cars to run the railroad, so some of these will hopefully find a happy home somewhere else!

The Layouts at the Railroad Hobby Show
Update: someone asked that I explain where the Railroad Hobby Show is. Indeed, up until a few years ago, I had no idea what people were talking about when they mentioned "the Springfield show."
The Railroad Hobby Show is put on by the Amherst Railway Society at the Eastern States Exposition Center (Big E) in West Springfield, Massachusetts in late January or early February. Thus it is known as "The Railroad Hobby Show," "The Big E show," "The Amherst Show," or "The Springfield Show."
End update.
Need Help Identifing a Steamer
Can anyone identify what locomotive this shell belongs to. I found it on Greenway Products, but the site doesn't give any information about it. I want to build a locomotive from it and learn about another fine loco.

Decoders, and Solders, and Programs, OH My !
In this blog I will share a little about my experience as a first time decoder installer.
What I did right, and what I did different. And what I would do different next time.
The Kato F3A takes a drop in decoder, and these are not super difficult to install in and of themselves.

Railroad History Row
Hey everyone, finally back with something other than Trainz livestreams, as fun as they are. This trip was a gem, with a great selection of locomotives. Probably the most notable items you'll see in the video is a GP40 sitting on some Alco trucks, two 45-tonners, and an SD40X. Speaking of which, weren't the SD40X's specific to SP???? Somebody put in the comments below. Anyways, link to the video below.

Status of upcoming TCS DCC system
Is there any updated info on the development or planned availability of TCS' new DCC system? Did anyone happen to attend the TCS clinic at the Amherst show last weekend and get some hands-on experience?

Econami question
Hi All, I installed an Econami 2 amp PNP in one of my S scale engines tonight and when testing it I noticed that a small flashing light pulses inside the shell in the area of the board for about 30 seconds after the power is shut down. I'm wondering if that has something to do with the current keeper bleeding off it's stored power? Engine and sound seem to work fine. Any Econami users noticed anything similar( it might be hard to see it with the engine all buttoned up, I had the removable dynamic brake panel off for testing) BTW.

SMA32 - JMRI Does DC ! …with up to 4-8 WiFi or JMRI DC Cabs
There are many modelers who for various reasons, use DC throttles to control the locos and trains on their layouts. What if you could combine the simplicity of a DC throttle with the sophistication of JMRI control, signaling, sensors, and even WiFi throttles? Yup! WiFi throttles for DC train control! …and what if you could put such layout control together for less than the cost of an old dual throttle power pack? Interested? Let’s see how it can be done!

More Progress on my Layout
I don't know how to if the photos work, I don't know an easy way to make them show. You can read the post here.
