Ballast Marathon
Hi! This week I´m making a ballast marathon.. Well.. At least 4 different ways.. I wish you a nice weekend!
An experiment that went well; gluing brass numerals.
Trying to glue brass numerals to a surface has been not fruitful for me.
I can line them up and with the eye get them perpendicular,
but I need a thin adhesive that doesn't dry fast in order to position the numbers, which takes a few minutes.
Long or Short Rolling Stock?
These comments came from an on-line booklet called The Ultimate/Definitive Guide To Model Trains. I found the section on recommended rolling stock length to be confusing.

Publishing model train videos on YouTube? Don't worry about it ...
This has blown up on YouTube the past couple of days - apparently the Federal Trade Commission is putting teeth into COPPA (Child Online Privacy Protection Act), to the tune of a $42,530 fine per violation (video)... since most of the world considers what we do to be "playing with toys," what we put up on YouTube can potentially fall afoul of this.
Walthers Double-Track Railroad Bridge Stone Abutment 933-4584
I sent the following question to Walthers a couple of times over the past couple of weeks and have yet to receive any response. The subject is the Walthers Double-Track Railroad Bridge Stone Abutment - Resin Casting p/n 933-4584 seen below.
Need help with a (coaling tower?) structure - where to place what to add?
Good morning everyone. So, here's the story, I picked up this great looking structure a (really) long time ago. It looks to be scratch built from cardstock and basswood. It's a really nice model.
To my uneducated eye, it appears to be a coaling tower and I was planning to use it as such at a small engine servicing depot I'm planning.

Fire Suppression in 1955 Vintage Roundhouse
I'll be detailing the roundhouse's interior on my HO railroad and hope my fellow modelers may have information. How would a mid-1950s western Class 1 railroad with steam and diesel motive power equip their roundhouses, back shops, and other work buildings with fire suppression? Hose reels? Or? Unfortunately my Internet searches have proved fruitless.

ESU brake squeal
Does anyone know what CV turns the brake squeal on? I bought a Walthers SD60M and it squeals when it stops, it's very cool!
8th Street Yard
Well surveying crews have extended down the line to start working on the Small yard. Here is the plan:
And here are some pictures of road bed going in and backdrop going up, enjoy.
