Decal frustrations

Well, tonight was NOT the night for modeling.  I was hoping relax in the train room a little after a busy day.  Tried decaling some boxcars.  Generally decaling has gone well for me.  For some reason it didn't go well tonight.  They adhered very wrinkly.  Then, I tried cleaning one off and made an even bigger mess.

If anybody has any encouragement for a very UN-relaxing night of modeling or ideas how to fix/improve my decaling feel free to share.

OSMRI 1 Module Frames

This Blog will describe the design and manufacture of Module Frames  for our new Club layout.

It is the first in a series of "How To" blogs following on from the "Open Source Model Railroad Initiative" blog that I would recommend as an introduction and can be found here:

Modeling old track that makes small trains roll and rock back and forth

Hello all, has anyone tried to model old short lines or branch lines with bad trackwork? With dips and rises when laying the track (handlaid). Now I am not talking a huge deal, say .010 to .015 inch with small shims staggered about. Have seen some lines on YouTube that were really bad, but looked really cool watching the small train rocking and swaying back and forth. Just spit balling here guys. Thoughts   God Bless Ya   Dave

Neopixel Building Lighting

Has anybody used Neopixels to light their structures? Looks like you can use an Arduino Nano to both power and control them individually including light intensity and color. I ordered some to mess with, but was wondering what if any experience anyone on here had with them.

I ran across this video that made me aware of the technology: >

Allagash and Proto Throttle videos

I just wanted to mention that I though the Allagash video was superb in how it shows how one very capable modeler approaches his modeling theme.

Trackplan Opinions

Hi everyone, this is the best trackplan I have come up with yet. My space is 6' x 10.5 '. I am looking for constructive criticism and opinions to make it better. Any help appreciated! laugh

Another Highland video

Just posted another video to YouTube. This one's just a quick interchange between Highland & Norfolk Southern. The beginning of the video gives a good shot of two ScaleTrains SD40-2's climbing the 2.5% grade though. The freight cars all weigh 8-11 oz. each so the sound is not just for show - those engines are really working!
