(Show us your) Fascia Labelling

Good morning.

Recently, I hosted an ops session. I am very new to operations and I'm learning the hard way that people who are new to operating my layout can't read my mind. New Operator: "Hey, where is Waterbury Card Board Box Company?" Me: "It's right in front of you." New Operator: "What number is that switch." Me: "..."

Artifacts Showing in Plastic Roof Panels

In building the Walthers HO scale roundhouse, I find most of the roof panels exhibit artifacts which defy all attempts to cover with paint.  Photos are attached.

The patterns are repeated at the same location on both sides of the roof panel.  I'm tempted to sand the areas but like sanding some softwoods, the wood's grain structure doesn't disappear but is actually accentuated.  I seek guidance for a method to make these blemishes disappear.

Thanks very much for your assistance !!

First blog entry for me...

SP Lordsburg Sub - Construction

Construction of my SP Lordsburg Sub has begun! My first (of four) stud walls went up yesterday. The first view is standing in the doorway looking in and the second is from the opposite corner of the room looking back to the entrance.

Photos in the next post.

winter scene in Switzerland

My cable box runs a series of screen-saver images when it's not tuned to anything. They shift at about an 8- or 10 -second rate sequence, so if you miss any details, you have to wait for it to come by again. Right now, in a beautiful series of photos from all over the world, a variety of scenes such as the Northern Lights, mountains, lakes, etc. are shown, along with their location. One in particular caught my eye; it's what looks like a stub-ended track next to a station along with two passenger cars (no loco) in a winter setting.

MDF spline?

Being a retired woodworker I've used a lot of MDF. Has anyone used it instead of hardboard for making spline?

Help needed making your own booster connection cable for Roco Z21

Hi Guys and ladies

I need some help with the wiring of a booster cable for a Roco z21. I need to know if the two RJ connectors are wired as a cross over, or how the wiring goes from the left to the right RJ connector. I only need about a 12 inch cable and most of the ones for sale are 6 feet or longer.

Thanks

Henry van Wyk

Pulpwood Loads & Jigs

Pulpwood logs are a significant traffic item on the Algoma Central, and a type of load I'll need quite a supply of for my flatcars and gondolas.
