BC Rail Takla Subdivision

After much consideration with regards to my time, funds, and available space, I've decided to put my Dawson Creek subdivision layout on hold for now. It'll be a project to tackle in a few years once I get an external garage built with proper space for a layout.

Landform planning and vertical compression

I guess this post is mostly observation, with a bit of a lament thrown in.

Although I was diligent in my track planning and planning for the type, footprint and location of structures, roads, etc.,  I realize that I mostly paid attention to the spacing and compression in the horizontal plane, and pretty much skipped over thinking in detail about the vertical plane.

Data Locations for LokProgrammer 5

I have installed the LokProgrammer 5 software on my Windows 10 PC.  I established the locations of the Project and Template data files (which can be user determined) without any problem.

With the older LokProgrammer 4 software, in addition to those data files, the software also created folders in at least two other locations that I've discovered:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\ESU\LokProgrammer4\Autosave

C:\Users\username\Documents\LokProgrammer4

Gondola bottoms

Hi to all those who are still looking to make models better. I am in need of someone who can point me to a manufacturer or company that makes steel bottoms for H O gondola cars. I have been looking but to no avail. All the bottoms I see these days are wood and I'd like to step mine up a bit. Can anybody help[? Thanx in advance. Steve Klein

Linking to an individual posting....Problem

I've been having problems linking to an individual posting lately. Yes I do know how to do it, and have done it on numerous occasions.

But I've experienced problems a number of times lately,..the most recent this morning. I tried it 3-4 times on the same posting, but when I click on the title of the individual posting, it takes me to the original title of the subject thread, rather than the title of the individual reply I am trying to link to ??

MARs lights with DCC

A question came up about what sort of bulb/LED & or modification was required to make our MARS lighted locos operate on DCC?

Never really thought about this, but are you saying that all those locos that we have with 'stock factory MARS lights' don't operated with DCC installed??

On another note, how about these flashing lights on a trackmobile??

EMD E3 vs E5 vs E6

As a modeler, what’s the difference between an EMD E3A, E5A, and E6A?

I want an E3A and E6A (N scale) but the only thing I can find is the Kato E5. I have decals for both the ACL Campion E3 and IC City of Miami E6, but neither appeared to use the E5. I’ve read the primary difference was electrical but the Kato E5 appears slightly different.
