Allagash Railway- Extreme Diesel Weathering

Jack,

You asked about the green on the Allagash Fs. Here is a comparison shot. The Alco RS32 is fresh from the paint shop. That's Scalecoat II BNSF Green. The F was painted with a custom mix of Scalecoat II Burlington Northern Green and the BNSF Green. Probably 80/20 BNSF Green/Burlington Northern Green.

Checking for bench work height with old portable layout (Was from and old railroad plan book).  Your looking at a 2 foot wide section over a 1 foot wide section.  You can also see the reach problem with the 2 foot wide section.

Distracted by modules

I went to the N scale "Meet-N-March" last month and got my juices going about building a module for either oNeTrak or Free.Mo.N standards.  I have been on the Yahoo group lists for a year or two now, and there had not been much activity in awhile.  I ran into some folks at the meet (Mr.

Depot progress (finally)

I'm embarrassed to say that it's been over 3 months since I last worked on my layout.  Amazing how real life can get in the way.

Today I decided to hide away from the world and spent the afternoon in the basement.  Felt good to get something accomplished.  My depot is finally starting to look like a depot!

Consisting MTH PA/B/A units...some help please from a pro!

I have received my "PA" units A/B/A and wanted to consist them as a single "Advanced consist". I have used my NCE Pro Cab and have selected "124" as the advanced number. My lead unit is 6013, "B" unit as 6012 and trailing "A" unit as 6011. I have already built the consist as "124" and the trailing unit is running in "reverse mode". From here looking for answer here.

Off Layout Rolling Stock Storage

I'm looking for ideas for off layout storage of rolling stock. I have a 2'x8' shelf layout and can reasonably handle 10 40 ft cars an one loco. Like most model rails I have "somewhat" more than 10 cars and one loco.

I want to have the rolling stock available to be moved on to the layout when called for.  I am using the car card system built into the Easy Model Railroad Inventory software to generate car movements. The use of cars from off layout storage adds to the variety both visual and operationally.

Singlet Servo DCC Accessory Decoder and Fast Tracks three way turn out

Ok here is a question I am not sure how to do.  I have a Fast tracks 3 way turnout that I plan to Tam Valley Depots Singlet servo to control.  This product has LED that help with route ID but in a three way turn out you use 2 Singlet to control the turnout.  Is there any way to have the LEDs light up or turn green for the route that both set of points are aligned for.  I am sure this can be done I am just at a blank on how to do this.

Quad Servo Decoder or SC8

Hi Guys

I plan to drive the turnouts on my new Digitrax DCC layout with servos. I have hooked up a PC running JMRI via a USB Loconet and will be using an Android phone in addition to the DT 402 for control.

I have been researching the Tam Valley Quad Servo Decoder and the Team Digital SC8 unit.  My thoughts so far are:

1. The SC8 works out slightly cheaper than the Quad

2. The Quad has the advantage of being able to connect either single or bi-colour LEDs and switches for Fascia control.

Diorama by Larry B

To All: Here  are two attachments of a diorama built by Larry B of Jacksonville, FL. He did a fine job. He is new to model railroading, but you would not have guessed so! Photos by Larry, enhanced and cropped by me.
